Oriana X406

#1

Post by chrisb60 »

After being on Oriana for this cruise, I feel that Oriana needs to be dry docked and the problem with the starboard propellor/shaft/seal be sorted permanently. The vibration in the Oriental Restaurant was terrible, it could also be felt throughout the ship.
Boarding was delayed two hours to allow the ship to be deep cleaned because of a serious outbreak of Norovirus on the previous cruise. Not a complaint, very glad they did it. No outbreaks on our cruise.
One more moan to go, the Conservatory was like a scrap in a motorway service station.
On the plus side. We did get to see the Northern Lights and actually get some photos. Plus our table companions were brilliant company.
We will only return to Oriana when the existing engineering problems have been sorted.

and there were some cases of noro virus on board as I got it and was confined to our cabin for 3 days.

Sorry to hear about your illness. As far as we were aware our cruise was illness free. Just goes to show, don't believe all you hear. Did you manage to enjoy most off the cruise and did you get the Northern Lights?

yes we did see the northern lights brilliant was then taken ill on the next day being confined our cabin for 2 sea days and Stavanger being realised from the cabin at 12 noon on the 24th they told us that there were a few others but not many.
still the first part of the cruise was unforgettable and we are thinking of going back their on a summer cruise to see the midnight sun.
