We just booked a 7 day cruse in Aug 2014 from Dover.
Any good B&B between Southampton and Dover?

Southampton to Dover is very easily drivable in one hit photos4u

Probably about 2.5 hours if you get a lick on.

If however you are intending making a trip out of it, take the coast road and stop off in Rye.
It's a lovely place with some beautiful old buildings and plenty of Hotels etc

Very recommended is the Mermaid Inn , an old smuggling haunt
Empty vessels .. and all that

We've stayed at a lovely country house hotel called the Burpham House Hotel at Burpham near Arundel which is on that trajectory. Very small and intimate - only 9 or 10 rooms.

A group of us drove back rom Dover along the coast once. It took over 8 hours. Soton to Dover is about 150 miles and 2.5 hours by M3, M25, M20 should cover it easily.

QB, you mentioned the M25 word! Doesn't that automatically add three days to any journey? Seems to for us anyway!!

It depends on the time of day, avoid the rush hours and you'll be fine. I've done it many times. I've driven from here to Denmark, East Germany, the Alps in a day before and a day trip to Bruges is quite easy. (not the same day, Silly!)
