Hi Martin,
I have looked at all the roll calls for this cruise and they are all very quiet. Lots of room for us then.
We are cruising with 2 friends who we met cruising many years ago.

Have you any trips planned? I quite fancied the Catamaran in Corsica but at £72 each for 3 1/2 hours decided I could live without it.

Hi Sue,
We have only booked one tour and that is Rome on your own as my OH has been to Rome before and has some knowledge of it other than that we are going to diy.

Hi Martin,

We have been to all the ports before so will also be DIY ing. We have decided to give Rome a miss this year and are going to look round Civitavecchia instead.

We have been researching Ajaccio and there are some much less expensive boat trips on offer so may well book one of those at the port.

Hi Sue,
We have been to some ports but realised the ones we haven't done don't really need tours and the main reason for the tour to Rome is the safety aspect of not being left behind and i have never been there.
Ajaccio itself looks a lovely place to walk around.

Hi Martin, the first time we went Rome we did the Rome on your own trip. Great day. Just don't try to do everything pick what you want to do. If you want to see the Vatican book your tour on line. Very inexpensive and you book a time and walk past the queues. Book 11 am to be safe.

We got dropped off close to st Peters and got a taxi to the colleseum, from there walked to the a Forum, Trevino fountain and Pantheon. Loads of places to eat near there then walked back to St Peters to meet the coach.

You can book Colloseum tickets on line which give you free access to the Forum.

We concur. We've done this trip three times and enjoyed them all. If you're concerned about missing the boat then an official trip is probably for the best. On our latest visit we all took the train and saved about £300 quid, which was nice :)

Hi Sue & Bob,
Thanks for the info, not really religous so not too interested in the Vatican but will probably book tickets for the colleseum.
Under 4 weeks now Sue.

Packing ongoing. Everything sorted. Slight change of plan as now not going to Devon for a few days prior to cruise. Travelling part way down on Saturday and staying over at the Hilton at Chieveley.

Looking forward to this cruise and feeling the heat of the sun.

How are things your end? All sorted?

Packing started, at work today so not doing anymore till tomorrow. Been looking at the sun all day and cursing my luck that i am indoors.
We are travelling down on the Saturday and staying in Southampton and when we get thrown out of hotel i will be going straight to the terminal which i have always done but i did ring P&O about the embarkation time being much too late and was told to arrive when i want.

Hi Martin,
That's good to know. We got 12 noon embarkation time but our friends got 3:30. Will let them know to ignore it. They are Entitled to priority boarding anyway so seems strange that there time is so late.

We will be joining you on the 15th but on a different ship -Aurora. Our first port of call is Cadiz, the same as Azura so it looks like we will be travelling side by side for the first two days.

We are on Azura A417 too, finally got to book a cruise today. We cancelled Oceana 406 because of the propeller repairs and transfered to Azura A409 earlier, but ill health forced another cancellation. Finally fingers crossed we will get on this one. Is Aurora R409 alongside at Cadiz for definate? it looks like it in the brochure.
Anyway is anyone organising a meet for the CC on board?
Cheers John

Thanks Sue, no doubt somebody will be a volunteer. I did it a couple of times, good fun, but don't need the stress on holiday. I notice you are from Lancashire, may I ask whereabouts?

Not far from you John. We are from Preston.

I have also organised meets in the past but now just turn up if someone else organises them.

Hi Sue, your right Preston's not a million miles from us. Got our cabin too today, balcony on D deck on the saver fare system. Only hope we can get on 2nd sitting or freedom dining. Not been on the saver fare since the introduction of the new T&C's, will have to take a chance and see as we only booked yesterday.

We have just had notification of an itinerary change. Now calling at Civitavecchia on Sunday and Ajaccio on Monday instead of the other way round.

Not long now and we will be back on board Azura. Last on for Xmas 2013.

Hi Sue, we had the same notification too, don't think it will affect my plans though. Just trying to organize a hotel for the Saturday pre embarkation. Its two years since we were last on Azura and looking forward to it again next Sunday.
Hope we bump into you at the Quoits one day.
Cheers John
