Best Bar on Azura

#1

Post by Romig1 »

I'm wondering which bar will be our venue of choice.

We tend to go for the bars that serve canapes pre-dinner.

We like magnum's on Oceana, Intermezzo on Arcadia and Metropolis on Ventura (the only ships we have sailed on so far).

Which bar would be equivalent on Azura?

Or, what is your preference?

R the equivalent on Azura would be the Planet Bar. We don't really spend much time in the bars but I wasn't over keen on the 'pub' on Azura.

I don't care for any of the pub type bars, on any of the ships thus far.

Sorry to answer but as I recall yes they do as I recall. Glass house is nice but you are mixed up with the people eating & it gets busy around show time

I'd forgotten about the Glass House John. In the evening it's a better place to drink than eat IMO.

Thanks John and Debs. Looks like we'll be found in the Planet Bar, pre-dinner...despite the extra stairs involved there and back!

The nearest bar on Azra to Intermezzo on Arcadia would be the Blue Bar - and yes they do all the nibbles & canapes.

The downsides are that it is quite small and you have to time it right to get a seat and it overlooks the atrium (good for people watching!)

I assume that's the equivalent of the Red Bar on Ventura? A bit small as you say, but good for our prefered pastime of people-watching. I guess we'll just have to try that and the Planet bar? :D

For us we liked the food there but you need a table at "table height" some are drinks level. It does get crowded there at the end of shows & people often are queuing in the area.

Brodies was a good venue but it is part of the Casino bit so is noisy but lively
Avoid Malabar it is like the black hole of calcutta and always made me feel queasy

I didn't care for the pub/casino layout on Ventura either.

We liked the food but had trouble getting a 'table height' table because all the drinkers were sat at them.

Exactly our problem, they should get their act together in there, also we found the ''dog in the manger'' types sitting there buying nothing.

I liked Blue bar for pre-dinner drinks, but it got quite busy.
We went up to Plantations a few times but found it to be dead with no atmosphere .. maybe we didn't give it a chance.
Ultimately we usually ended up in Manhattens, great seat for the show and good waiter service.

Only done a couple of short cruises on Azura - so no canapes :( - but my favourite bars for pre-dinner drinks were the Planet Bar (if you've got plenty of time) or the Glasshouse (if you're a bit pressed for time)

Planet bar will do canapés. Also bear in mind that you can have pre dinner drinks in Sindu. We did most nights and after the 2nd night they cooked little tasters for us ( and others). We thought it a nice touch so we kept going back. If Atul is on board I guess it will be the same or better.

Enjoy your cruise.

I assume you mean that you can have a drink there even if not dining there? If so, that sounds great too.

It doesn't give you the impression that you can just have drinks. We went there about 7:30 as we were on 2nd sitting.
We have been on Azura twice and each time our table companions were surprised that you could just have a drink there.
As your a Yorkshire man the prices are the same as the rest of the ship.
