Britannia now docked in Gibraltar where I understand the Captain has nipped ashore to buy a bottle of duty free Cava for Her Maj to crack against the new paintwork next week.

I dunno. After days and layers of paint, you just finish painting her, getting her in tip top nick then some old biddy comes along and put a ruddy great chip in it.

I would guess that there are hundreds of contractors still on board finishing off fitting out and making sure everything is in working order - especially as she is now on the "open seas" - very different from being in the shipyard, or even doing sea trials.

Just so long as no one is sleeping in my bed or sitting on my toilet. It will ruin my life if someone's been in my cabin before me.

Well unless you are going to lay your own carpet and make up your own bed then somebody will have been in your cabin before youMervyn and Trish wrote:Just so long as no one is sleeping in my bed or sitting on my toilet. It will ruin my life if someone's been in my cabin before me.

As long as you don't have one of those ' Superior ' type cabins you should be ok ... word is that the Ukrainian all weather bonking finals ( open to all comers ) are being held during her passage.Mervyn and Trish wrote:Just so long as no one is sleeping in my bed or sitting on my toilet. Bringing some refinement back to my thread, I have just had a PM from Dot Bond (Mrs 007) she is on board Britannia getting ready for the gala dinner, Michael Ball is performing and then a firework display... Not at all jealous!!!! She is also at the naming ceremony tomorrow. I am meeting up with her on Friday for dinner before she sails on the maiden, so will get the low down on the ship.. which she so far has describes as beautiful.

Perhaps you could PM her back on my behalf Jenni? Just ask her to chuck a towel on a sunbed to reserve it for me and ask her to keep an eye on my cabin to make sure no-one's sleeping in my bed or using my toilet!JenniC wrote:Bringing some refinement back to my thread, I have just had a PM from Dot Bond (Mrs 007) she is on board Britannia getting ready for the gala dinner, Michael Ball is performing and then a firework display...
