Me too.
You got in there quick David, I was just about to make the announcement too

I almost got excited, as I read it I was just waiting for the bit where it said......and we would be honoured if you and a guest would attend the invite ceremony with XXXXXX afterwards. Sadly, not to be :(

Me too - some people clearly have nothing to do but sit waiting for an e-mail from Her Maj !

If she's there, that's obviously why they haven't invited any riff-raff this time !!

Had the email too. My attached invitation also appears to have gone astray. Another P&O IT cock-up. I'll let them know.

Me too! We were on Azura in Istanbul when the name was announced and we will be on Azura for the naming, do you think they will show it live on board?

Absolutely right qb. There are some right dodgy characters on here that would not only spoil a great event with their childish antics, and could quite possibly also ruin our respected standing in the world in a heart beat that has been built up over many decades by the Royals............. :)

Just got the email too - we will be on board Oceana - departing the day before so at least we'll get to see Britannia. Yes I'd like to see the naming ceremony - assume it will be shown on board. Can't think the Queen will think Britannia is as lovely as her beloved Royal Yacht Britannia!

You never know. When we did the tour of the Royal Yacht we weren't too impressed.

Can't really compare, Merv. Mind you, I am sure the crew will be happier on Britannia than in those dodgy hammocks on the Royal Yacht

The announcement about the Queen must count as one of the worst kept secrets ever. The rumour mill has been in overdrive for weeks. My sister is also going on Oceana on the 9th so she should see Britannia on the 8th when she comes to the Island on the Red Funnel car ferry and then again on the 9th when she sails out on Oceana.

My guess is that the announcement was not being made until Britannia left the shipyard - could have been embarrassing if The Queen turned up and there was no ship

You old queen you. :sarcasm:

Despite my earlier post on another thread Britannia is still alongside in Leith Montfalcone but tugs are lurking. Perhaps the Captain's not back from buying the Sat Nav yet.

You know jolly well that everything Her Maj visits gets re-painted ... hence the delay.

They seem to have two tugs deployed. It doesn't appear to be windy according to the local weather report so either the side-thrusters are out of warranty already or they don't trust the Captain not to smudge that wet paint!

Of course it has been built in Italy. Maybe they've put the steering wheel on the wrong side and the Captain's still looking for it. Big ship to search for something like a missing steering wheel.
