To all those cruisers who are sailing on Britannia's maiden voyage - hope you all have a lovely time and I look forward to hearing the reports on the ship on your return.

Indeedee, " Bon Voyage " ...

Have a great cruise and enjoy, in particular, the ' newness ' of the ship but also do try to take into account the fact that many of the crew will also be new ... please be gentle with them.

Thanks everyone! :D

I'm currently at that stage of the packing where I've got everything out that we intend to take and I'm wondering whether it'll fit into the cases!

I'm surprised that felt you had to say that. As far as I'm aware, the forum members that are going on this cruise are pretty reasonable sorts who wouldn't be hard on the crew in any circumstances

Personally, I know there are likely to be a few teething troubles - there always are when something new starts. I'm not the type of person to throw a tantrum if everything's not perfect!

You may not be Gill, nor are we. But sadly I'm sure we've all witnessed examples of passengers being less than pleasant to members of the crew, even sometimes when things are going well. Not acceptable but sadly it happens.

My thoughts were ...

On a new ship there will be a lot of new crew members and as you will doubtless appreciate many of them can be a bit ' at sea ' during their first few weeks. I would very much like to believe that every single one of our readers, regular posting Members or otherwise, plus their other half etc are easy going folk who will accept spills, errors and a shortfall in the service level provided without saying a word other than perhaps a few kind words of encouragement but sadly my cruising experience tells me otherwise. Such people may or may not be Members of Cruise Forums.

What a fabulous sight especially if you have a balcony on the port side.
