Norovirus is carried by people and is endemic in the UK, so any ship, new or old, can see cases. I've not read the report but given the incubation period of Noro it seems odd they should pick it up towards the end of a one weeks cruise if there have been no cases reported before. Perhaps they picked it up ashore?Whynd1 wrote:Its been reported on another cruise forum that a passenger who was one a weeks cruise to the Fjords , towards the end of the cruise contracted the novovirus.

One thing that surprised me on my recent cruise on Azura was that in the Oriental Restaurant we were sprayed by the staff on entry which is fine but on the other side of the (sheep dip station as I called it) there were ladies and gents toilets which people used before sitting down for dinner. I would have thought that it would be better to have the staff stand after the toilets.

A good point, though I suppose the idea is to provide some protection against bugs people may have innocently picked up from stair rails or lift buttons and the assumption would be, wrongly of course, that they would have the sense to look after themselves by washing their hands after using the toilet.
