Re: Free Wifi hotspots in ports Civitavecchia

When visiting Civitavecchia ( for Rome) I found a rustic little bar on Via XV1 Settembre, Bar Vespucci is just across the road from the port shuttle drop off point. Just follow the crowds going across the pedestrian crossing into town, Bar Vespucci is probably the nearest bar with free WiFi and the coffee is quite good too. The staff are very friendly and they give you a card with the WiFi log in details when they bring the drinks, there are tables on the pavement and plenty inside too, WiFi signal was good and we were able to Facetime the family without any break in signal.

Just back from Arcadia, and before each port the ship contacted the port Agent to determine where free WI FI was available. The venues were then listed in the Horizon newspaper for that particular port day.

Great idea. I wonder how long before the bean counters put a stop to it because it's affecting revenue!

Thanks for that information folks. Wherever I go I always seem to be the one who can't get connected!!! But I'll give these a try especially if they are being published in Horizon.
I don't mind too much. Happy for the boys far away from home to get in touch with their loved ones when all I want are the football results, news of any new signings and the occasional email.

My friend always heads for a local McDonalds for free Wifi, buys a cheap coffee to get her coffee fix and the Wifi password is on the receipt. Worked well on our last cruise to the Baltic. Also useful as a toilet stop.

Good plan. Not keen on McDonald's food but like their coffee
