Well, there's lovely - should be a nice little jolly. Honfleur's lovely. We're doing the Round Britain (again !) and that includes Dublin and Guernsey

Surprisingly we have not been to any of these places before - and the 50% off offer was too good to miss.

We found that when we started doing the Round Britains - loads of interesting places we had never been to. Mind you, after 3 previous trips, we are now running out of surprises (only 2 "maidens" on next year's - Killybegs and Portree) !

We have just booked on Adonia as well for the 4th August to the Med. The 50% discount offer seems to selling out quickly from all accounts.

Re: Adonia Here We Come
We went to Honfleur, St. Peter Port and Cobh on Adonia last year - the weather was dreadful - we also called at the Scilly Isles. We docked right in the middle of Cobh so it's just a very short walk into the town. There's a Titanic Museum, a very large gift shop and a cafe right by where the ship berths. Not a lot in Cobh itself but very pleasant.

I can't fathom out why they are offering big discounts so early. I was under the impression that it was one of the few ships that didn't need big discounts to sell out.

My guess is that as 2017 cruises have been on sale for the better part of a year they need something to "kick start" Adonia.RB1961 wrote:I can't fathom out why they are offering big discounts so early. My thought too. Catching up to do. And many people already have something else booked for 2017. So they need to encourage people to sneak in an extra break. Probably the same reason that there are a lot of 7 day cruises. I guess 2018 will look different

Re: Adonia Here We Come
I could understand that if your after 3000 passengers but 720 fills this ship and it does ports others on the fleet don't.
To be honest I'm not that bothered as we are not cruising this year unless something silly cheap that suits comes along.
Not fussed which ship as it will be based on destinations we haven't been to before.

AdonIa is on our list for 2019 if they don't muck about again. Already committed for 2017 and 2018, the latter with Princess because P&O aren't doing the itinerary we wanted.

This will be our first time on Adonia and first experience of being on a smaller ship.Wondering what differences we will find?

Re: Adonia Here We Come
The smallest we've been on was Artemis, slightly bigger than Adonia. But I guess what we found then applies. So fewer passengers means smaller queues. And it means more intimate. You bump into the same people more often. Staff are more likely to get to know you and your preferences. But a smaller ship means fewer venues so less choice of activities and entertainment. The only time that became a problem was when our favourite bar was invaded by karaoke! But it means less chance of getting lost and shorter walks when you do.

Strangely enough Artemis has been the only ship that have ever got lost on - I could never work out if we were supposed to be going to the pointy end or the blunt end!Mervyn and Trish wrote:But it means less chance of getting lost

Re: Adonia Here We Come
We rarely get lost, even on the bigger ones. We unwind a string as we leave the cabin and just follow it back. Mind you once as we arrived back on our landing there was an elderly couple there and she said "oh look, isn't that nice, they've changed all the pictures". Yes, really!
