Sad news on QM2
I'm getting reports that there is an elderly British woman who has gone MOB on QM2. It's also now on the Beeb.
What an awful thing to happen at this time of year. I sort of hope that she'd innocently had a bit too much to drink and gone into the wrong stateroom - but surely Cunard wouldn't put it out on the news that someone had gone mob without first doing a thorough roll call?
It will cause an uneasy feeling throughout the ship, and her travelling companions will be in a terrible state - although I know that Cunard will do their best to look after them. According to the Beeb the search has been called off.

The day before there was a report of someone falling overboard from IOTS though in that case it sounds as though tragically it was deliberate

I would imagine that falling overboard at any time would be deliberate in most cases, unless you were exceptionally tall and top heavy.

Sadly this time of the year is, I believe, one of the "peak" times for suicides
