Oriania For Sale (again)
P&O have today officially denied on Facecloth that Oriana is up for sale - so it must be true

Was the spokesperson on Facecloth who said that the same one who said Adonia's itineraries would be announced shortly?

I would have thought the most sensible thing would have been for them to sell that old tub and keep Adonia, but then what do I know ?!

If true, the way things are going they won't have much of a fleet left.

If it is true that Oriana is for sale we will say good bye to P&O and look at cruises with Fred Olsen and cruise and maritime not that we think P&O will care as they do seem to be obsessed with the bigger ships that we are not interested in.

I hope Oriana is not for sale because our next two cruises are on her.

Re: Oriania For Sale (again)
Our very first cruise in 2006 was on Oriana so has a bit of a special place in our hearts, although we are not so keen since the reconfiguration with some of the public areas over the years.
Just hope Aurora doesn't get the chop anytime soon as she is one of our favourites.

Oriana was our first too, but the word among those in the know is she's clapped out, unreliable and costs a fortune to keep at sea. So even if the current rumour is untrue my guess is come the next one she'll be gone.

Re: Oriania For Sale (again)
Well I have two cruises booked on Oriana, one this coming March and just booked for June 2019 so that one could be affected.
Just have to wait and see.

Re: Oriania For Sale (again)
This is such an old story. Ship brokers regularly advertise ships for sale when the owners have not put the ship up for sale. My son-in-law has some experience in ship broking and he says this often happens. The brokers see if they can get any offers for say Ship A. If they get somone interested and offer what the broker thinks to be a good price they then contact the owners of Ship A - even though it's not for sale - and say, Hey look we've got someone who will pay such an such a price for your ship. Are you interested, we can broker a deal? It seems an odd way to do business to me, to be able to offer something for sale that they don't own and that the owners have not put up for sale. Oriana has been advertised as being for sale for at least the last three or four years to my knowledge. Absolutely nothing to do with Carnival or P&O.

Apart from denying the rumour, which as we know they always say it as it is (the official line that is!)

P&O Cruises
P&O Cruises Hi Mary, indeed, Oceana will remain with the fleet.
So no concern there then

Still not as bad as Queen Victoria. She was transferred from Cunard to P&O as Arcadia even before she was completed, having previously started construction for Holland America.
So strictly the current Queen Victoria should be QV2!

Some of the early construction pictures released of Arcadia even had a ".....dam" name on the hull!
