Cunard Queen Victoria

Hi All
My wife and I have done several cruise in great locations, time as come for us to do a Baltic cruise next year and I am in the final stages of booking. Its always been a dream to cruise on one of the Cunard ships and next year Queen Victoria sail from Southampton to the Baltic.
We are looking at a Balcony room on the port aft side. We are told the pool is above us. Therefore our questions are:

Is the pool being above us a problem. I think the room we are looking at is 8143, I have read that at 6 am and 6 pm you can hear scrapping of chairs above
Are the balconies private at that part of the ship, i am reading that some are over looked or is that the aft suits
What are the cost like on Cunard v Princess for wine, and excursions .

Please give us your thoughts on the above please as i need to book this by the 2 November 2017
