... between a "Captain's Gala Reception" and a "Captain's Welcome Reception"?

On our forthcoming cruise we have both of these and they appear as "Dress Theme" - but no details as to what one wears to such an event!!

The welcome one is normally second night and formal with the free drinks. Gala night is usually towards the end and also formal but never heard it called Captain's Gala before.

If it's anything like the gala dinner evenings I wouldn't get too excited.
