As the youngsters are likely to go clubbing later tonight and others of us will be staying on board, I think we should organise another party for later tonight. I can provide the streamers but you will need to bring your own drugs, BP tablets, heart tablets, cholesterol tablets etc but no drug dealing allowed. I will ask the buffet staff to provide hot chocolate and horlicks at 10.30 pm and the party will end at 11pm. Us oldies will show the youngsters that we know how to have a good time.

I have very fond memories of Ibiza.

We stayed for two weeks in the late 80's, and it is one of my favourite non cruise holidays.

We stayed in the family resort of Es Cana, in a lovely hotel, with entertainment under the stars each night.

For one of the weeks we hired a car, so we could explore the island. I really liked Ibiza Old Town.

All my photos are in the loft, but here's a picture from the internet of Es Cana

One of the best 'statue costumes' I have ever seen. I bet he was absolutely baking. The date on the photo says 04/12/2019 the American version of 12 April 2019 (must get Ken to sort that out) and it was a very warm day.

We were on a tour, so we were more in the city centre. I don't recall seeing any marina or inner harbour when we left the ship, unfortunately, as I like that kind of waterside area

We were staying with friends further down the coast, it was a business trip for them but we all had a day off and drove to Valencia. We all liked the place but I have no real idea where we parked and how we got to it etc ...

With everyone back on board we are setting off for a short hop down the cost to Alicante.

Hope you've booked your tours to Benidorm and Guadalest.

Good grief, Meg. I'm not sure which paving is the most difficult to focus on.

Alicante is on the itinerary for my Iona cruise next March. If it goes ahead/if I decide to go, it looks like a nice place to walk round, even though the paving makes you go cross eyed!

There are places to walk, to sit and to look at and none of them will make your eyes go funny ;)

we were very impressed by it.
Here's part of what I wrote at the time:

Alicante , despite looking like a concrete jungle from a distance, turned out to be very pleasant.
From the shuttle drop off in one direction is a palm lined prom and the shops behind that, and in the other direction a blue flag beach (why do they need to bus people to Benidorm when there's such a lovely beach here?)
