Regal Princess

#1

Post by MicheleW »

So, I am off on a staycation aboard the Regal Princess with, Mum and godmother, for 3 nights on 31st July. Thought it would be a good opportunity to try out Princess. We have booked an inclusive rate which includes all gratuities, drinks package and wi-fi.

Booked it a few days ago and then - the usual no-no- had a look at the prices to find they had all gone down!!! Anyway, rang Princess and managed to cancel the booking, get future cruise credit and re-booked for a premium deluxe balcony for the same price. Can't fault the service so far!

Let's just hope everything goes ahead - so looking forward to cruising again.

Talking about shoes - if we must - bought 4 new pairs in the last week!

Went to the closing down sale in Debenhams last Tuesday and got 2 pairs and went back this morning and got another 2.

So happy!

If only Stephen - it would save so much time deliberating over which one pair to wear!

Mrs B had a lady in on Tuesday who bought three pairs of leather pumps, the same but different colours .
That was a first.
Some of her ladies have been spending like they’ve been caged up for months. 😁
Empty vessels .. and all that

We will board for 4 nights as you leave. We thought the prices really good, and the A/I package excellent value. We’ve booked an aft facing suite. We have booked the same for a week in September, again sailing the UK, and another Seacation on QE in July.

At least it’ll be something, if proper foreign travel isn’t advised.

As you say Gill - at least it is something and totally agree with you about the price. It is just so nice to have something to look forward to. Looking at the deckplans, most of the premium deluxe cabins with larger balconies are aft - hopefully shouldn't be too cramped for 3 of us to sit out on.

Might have a look at the Cunard ones too!

Just had an email from Princess - we have been upgraded to a Mini suite! :D

Much more room inside, but the balconies look a bit smaller - very happy though.

I don't think they've built a cabin big enough yet which is why she likes a big balcony :)

You’ll not a big balcony on these new ships. That Jane McDonald one is tiny.
Give me C deck Ventura anytime.

Definitely more room for shoes! Just don't know if I can carry enough to fill the space!!

Totally agree about the C deck balconies on Azura and Ventura - that's what we've got booked for our next little jaunt for New Year - fingers crossed that we'll be able to go. Probably won't be able to make much use of the balcony in Hamburg in December though!

We're also booked on Aurora for next October - it's such a good feeling to think that we've got 3 cruises booked. (Which of course might not happen, but it's still a good feeling).

Well, (along with most people it seems) we've been battling with the medallion app, but finally got all the details sorted. I have managed to pick 11.45am boarding time and I had also booked a table on anytime dining for each night, but they seem to have disappeared at the moment!

So can now start to think about the packing - so far only got 7 pairs of shoes for the 3 nights - quite restrained for me! Originally there were 3 casual nights, but apparently now there will be a "dress to impress" night.

Can't believe I will be on a cruise ship again soon. (As long as we pass all the tests!)

For various reasons we swapped our Regal cruise to something else then rebooked but into the same one as you Michelle. We too have an 11.45 arrival time - I chose 11.15 but for some strange reason the app changed it a week later, and it seems petty to make a fuss.

We have booked Sabatini’s on the second night, but will turn up when we choose the other two. I haven’t even thought about packing - depends what fits!

So maybe we’ll see you on board!

The exact same thing happened to me Gill - put in 11.15, but it changed to 11.45! I didn't want to try and change it in case it disappeared altogether, along with our dinner reservations!

Some people seem to have been able to complete the health questionnaire part now as well, so I am going to have a look at that now and also see if our dinner reservations have turned up. We've booked for the show "Bravo" on the second night, so hoping that if we don't have dinner reservations, we will still be able to get to it - should be OK, as we are going to the 10.00pm performance.

Getting much closer now! Hopefully see you on board.

Michele

PS. Onelife - enjoy the New Forest - we had a week there at the beginning of June.
