I suppose one could argue that the P&O ferries company belongs to the historic part of the original company. P&O cruises only really started to exist in 2000 when P&O Princess cruises was demerged from the Peninsular and Oriental steam navigation co.
So I guess it ought to be be the cruise line that adopts a new name, but I assume they feel there is some value in keeping the P&O name.

Wow!!! They missed expectations by nearly 25%, $1.6billion in interest payments and a warning that it will be hard to return to profitability.
Cheap buy?

I already have some which were bought at over 3 times todays price, fortunately they are more than fully repaid with OBC and dividends. So I do hope the current company survives for a few more years so I can continue receiving even more OBC.

Same here John. I was thinking more of an investment as I already have more than enough shares for the P&O perks.

I don't think any cruise lines shares are worth taking a risk on at present. If there is a prolonged recession then the US lines could easily seek chapter 11 protection, but the result of that would be a significant restructuring of the shareholding, leaving you and I with a much reduced value, and the likelihood of either needing to buy extra shares to receive OBC, or maybe even losing it altogether.
