Re: no Gibraltar
Too congested with the cruise ships in Port and a greater risk therefore re Covid is my guess.

Now that we’re out of the EU they don’t have to call at a non-EU port in order to avoid charging VAT. I can’t remember the exact rulings but I don’t think we’re any better off.

Yes exactly that. The Gibraltar calls were largely a tax dodge.

I hope that doesn't become the norm. I love Gib, for me it's one of the best places in the Med.

Re: no Gibraltar
Have stopped off there so many times I can't say I would be too upset if we didn't stop there.

It's Marmite. Some seem to love it. But we've been ashore twice and since have not bothered to get off the ship when we call there. Can't see the attraction beyond the cheap booze.

I can’t see the attraction myself but everyone sees things through different eyes.

Gibraltar is more than cheap booze and fags. You just need to get off Main Street and explore. Gibraltar has an abundance history, nice beaches, some good restaurants, a lovely Botanic gardens the Alameda wildlife and conservation gardens. These gardens alone could easily take up your time ashore in Gibraltar .The Rock itself has so much to offer and can be done part way in a taxi. Wild the time away in a bar/restaurant people watching around one of the yacht basins.
I for one love the stop in Gibraltar.

We quite like Gibraltar, but we also enjoyed Cueta on Aurora, but P&O rarely seem to stop there.

Re: no Gibraltar
Last time we were in Gib, it poured with rain after we disembarked so went on a pub crawl.
We both had one too many and when walking back to the ship, spotted a kebab shop. We both had the munchies so went in and had large chicken shish with everything.
It was delicious.
Got back on board, both fell asleep and woke up about nine.
Had a shower, went for a drink and finished in the midnight buffet.
Happy times

Re: no Gibraltar
My only memory of Gibraltar is recovering in our cabin on Oriana (first cruise) from severe sea sickness while Mrs S and friends went ashore.

Are you sure it was sea sickness and not related to the cheap booze?

Yeah, I once suffered from ‘sea sickness’ on Oriana after discovering the cocktail The Godfather
