Same for me on Quordle. I got the dreaded black column stretching 5-7 inc. where three possible consonants could have gone. Struck lucky and got the last two on 8&9- felt a bit like getting an equaliser in stoppage time.

5 for me on Wordle. My usual starter word achieved nothing, not one letter. Second try got two letters neither in the right place after that it was a case of writing things down. Took ages.

Three again for Wordle but Quordle stumped me (3 out of 4) and 6 out of 8 with Octordle. Haven’t tried Merv’s Wordle yet!

Four on Wordle today and scraped in on the last row on Quordle. Again I got 4 greens on one of the words and took three goes to get the right consonant. That’s the second time in the last few days. I really should resist the temptation to bang in the next row, & again, & again Instead I should look to another square to develop the game.

What a little teaser today !!! Got the last four letters at third attempt but there were then five options for first letter - got it in 5 but could easily have failed today

Four for me. Got the last four letters on the third go, then it was a guess. I went for the one that didn't seem to rhyme with the others, if you see what I mean, and it was right. First go just one letter in the wrong place. Maybe I'd better change my first word, the last few days it hasn't been very good.

Wordle in three today, despite only getting one letter in the wrong place with my first try. I really need to change my first word.

Sorry, confusing post. I am doing Worldle but meant, like you, I'd never heard of the answer. Might as well have been on Mars!

Scraped Quordle on the 9th. Then decided I’d try Octordle. The daily one didn’t go well - I didn’t realise that you could scroll down after the second go. After failing that I decided to have a go at the Free Octordle and this brings me to my question. After about five or six attempts I had a couple of completed words and one box for which the answer could only be ‘harem’. It let me enter ‘har’ but wouldn’t let me put in the ‘e’. In the end I got 7 correct and was given the solution ‘harem’ for the failed box. What was I doing wrong?

Sounds like a glitch to me rather than you doing anything wrong. I did that one and it let me type in harem.

Thanks Mervyn. I found it a bit of a chew so I think I’ll stick with Wordle & Quordle To be honest, the thing I like about Wordle is that it only takes a few minutes ( and having become an addict, Quordle feeds the craving) but the eight grids gets into sudoku length of time.
