Re: WORDLE
Well done. I didn't get a third letter until my 4th go, and that was in the right place, but still took me 2 more after that.

Oh, this is much better than Wordle, Dordle, Quordle or even Octordle…working out David’s starter word!david63 wrote: ↑26 May 2022, 09:48I also had two in the correct place plus one in the wrong place with the first word, but solved it in twoMervyn and Trish wrote: ↑26 May 2022, 08:32Thursday. Crikey 2 in the right place at the first attempt but took me all 6 to get the answer!

Re: WORDLE
4 correct letters with first try, then 4 in the correct position on 2nd, but it still took me 4 to get it right.

Re: WORDLE
I got four letters in the right place on the third attempt but it took me to the 6th to find the correct missing letter! Too many possibilities.

Re: WORDLE
I was very pleased with myself today. On the first go I got the first letter correct and in the right place plus one other letter. Second try got the first two in the correct places plus another letter, a vowel not in the correct place. Then a lucky guess got me the correct word on the third attempt. Best result in days.

Re: WORDLE
Failed today, I had the first 4 letters after the 5th attempt, but being a shy and retiring sort of guy I chose the less flamboyant of the 2 options left.

Re: WORDLE
Did Quordle & the answers were A, B, C & D.
Started Octordle and the answers included A, B, C & D.
Presumably both games pick words at random from a word bank. There are bound to be repeats e.g. ‘caulk’ and ‘honor’, to name but two but 4 on the same day across two platforms is a big coincidence.

Re: WORDLE
Thought this was interesting following last weeks ‘Grounhog Day’ Quordle & Octordle. The new format is quite pleasing on the eye.

Today’s Dordle made me smile…more of a grimace, to be honest. In the left hand column I had 1,2,3&5 correct by the second row. I realised that there were at least six possible letters to fill the 4th spot. One possibility stood out in my mind but knowing my history of always guessing the wrong option I decided to work tactically and wracked my brain to find two words which contained between them 5 of the possible letters. Failing with both attempts I fell back on my original untried guess by default & got both answers with a row to spare. Only then did I realise there was a 7th possibility.

Re: WORDLE
A ‘phew’ for me too. Had a break from the puzzles for a week or so as just back from Ventura. Not been on her before & was pleasantly surprised. Some traditions were sadly missing eg the MDR daily sea day curry was not always there ( shortage of staff?) but I mentioned to my wife as the cruise went on that the ‘Canberra cough’ tradition was being maintained. Unfortunately I was proved wrong by the two red lines on our LFT when we arrived home.

Re: WORDLE
I got a 'Phew' yesterday. I got the first three letters correct by the third attempt but having the first three letters meant there were a number of possibilities, I guessed right on the 6th attempt. Not always a bonus to have the first three letters. Haven't looked at today's yet. The other day I actually got it in two - very pleased with myself. As it's now set by Americans does anyone else find themselves looking at possibilities and thinking, Now what would Americans be likely to choose? On a few occasions I've wondered that and it's been correct - probably just a coincidence as it's presumably all done by a computer.

Re: WORDLE
I did it in two yesterday - just a fluke but I agree Carole I think if a word is typically British then it probably won't be right. I had 3 correct letters today on the 3rd line but didn't get it until the last attempt - warning its a strange wordCaroleF wrote: ↑29 Jun 2022, 09:40I got a 'Phew' yesterday.
