Not if you go over the lines with a biro! But I might test that with one of the ones I do each week. Hopefully it's only one line!

I know what you mean. I too have wondered what it would be like for the first cruises out on the date the new testing regulations come into force. I am grateful mine is at the end of May so that the wrinkles can be ironed out.

I'm hoping it will be quicker now they're just checking paperwork rather than doing tests and awaiting results. They've got till August to get it right for us. The good news is they can easily make up lost time on the sea day before Stavanger..

Actually an update. She has departed. Two hours earlier than last week.

My brother and sister in law were on her on 16th April. Their first cruise. They got back last Saturday. Spoke to them on Tuesday and they said the ship was lovely, the food was lovely, the scenery was lovely, the entertainment was okay and they had enjoyed themselves. But it wasn't really their sort of holiday. They rang me yesterday to say they'd booked 22 nights on Arvia for March 2024! Fly to Caribbean, cruise around, sail back!

We were out catching up with some friends tonight. They were telling us that they had flown down to London for a couple of nights and a West End show and within hours of arriving home were testing positive for COVID. The bit that surprised me was that they were unable to provide any information on the various apps or channels so that others on the flight and even in the show could be warned. In the end they phoned the hotel, airline and theatre to explain what had happened ... they got the impression that none of them cared.

The covid precautions have all now been removed, so why would you consider it necessary to inform anyone. There is a recommendation that you self isolate until you test negative, but it is not mandatory.
Do you advise anyone when you have any other virus?

Have i missed a P&O announcement on face coverings.?
The last i knew was that coverings had to be worn when moving around inside the ships.
As i said in a previous post, a friend and her partner are on board Iona and have started posting the usual 'posing' pics.They are on the stairs in the atrium with others around and not a single face cloth in sight.!

I believe the current policy to to wear masks when embarking and disembarking and in the theatre. Otherwise masks aren't required

The official line from P&O as of today is

Whilst we highly recommend that guests wear masks on board, they are only required in the theatre, cinema, or if you visit the medical centre. Your mask must cover your nose and mouth and be of a good quality (ideally medical grade). Re-usable masks should be washed regularly, and visors and face shields aren’t accepted as a substitute for a face mask.

Off the ship, masks are required during embarkation, disembarkation and when using tender boats*. Some destinations may also require you to wear masks when ashore and we recommend taking one with you whenever you disembark the ship.

Please note that visors and face shields will not be accepted as a substitute for a face mask.
