just reterned from first cruise on princess ship
Hi just returned from our first cruise on Emerald princess 8 nights round Britain and must say it was better than we expected as the ship had sailed from America to Southampton with American passengers we did not really know what to expect but we found most American passengers very friendly and easy to talk to.
The food was certainly different to p&o who we usually cruise with but after a couple of days getting used to it we found our selves getting to quite like it the boat was about the same size as Azura and very comfortable cabins and around the ship the prices for this cruise were excellent and for $30.00 a night charge they paid your staff tips gave you free internet and free drinks and as p&o charge £59 a night for just free drinks we thought this was a very worth while offer

Glad you enjoyed the cruise Poole boy, Americans are not that bad and like you found them really friendly.
I can see how much you enjoyed the cruise, you posted it twice

I deleted the duplicate ...
Glad you enjoyed Princess, we also did albeit many years ago on what was to become P&O's Adonia.

We enjoyed our Princess cruises too. Just one point to bear in mind on the package prices, P&O no longer expect you to pay tips so that is included anyway. Nonetheless the Princess deal looks good on Internet and drinks alone. I could never drink enough to justify the P&O drinks package price.

Glad you had a good cruise. Princess is my brother's favourite line. We have done a couple with Princess and found them to be very good. I liked the more cosmopolitan mix of passengers.

Lovely memories of Emerald Princess - back in 2016 we sailed from Southampton up into the Arctic Circle. We were very much in the minority - mostly Americans and lots of Chinese and Malaysians - remember being told by the cruise director who by the way was from North West England that there were over 40 different nationalities on board. I enjoy the food on Princess ships plus the perks of being Elite passengers - free wifi/mini bar etc. plus laundry service - not sure if this is still available but the deal you had was good value for money.

Do not know why as it was our first cruise with princess but my wife was made an elite member while I was nothing the only advantage we knew of was that my wife and I could go to a specific lounge to get quick entry on to the tenders plus 10% of in the shops onboard shops

At one time P&O used to pass on your brownie points with them, we were also Elite on our first cruise.
