Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2023
It seems a sneaky move carrying over the Judges' votes to next week so that then there will be two lots of Judges' votes to one lot of the public votes. The BBC seem determined that Layton will win. For me I hope it's Annabel but either she or Ellie should win.

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2023
There is no way that he will win because the voting for the final is only the public vote - the judges have no input and Layton does not have public support.
Saturday's scoring was contrived against Annabel

In the final is it just the public vote which decides (although who would know if it wasn't fixed adjusted)

Indeed I suspect the Beeb will have a woke algorithm which adjusts the voting.oldbluefox wrote: 04 Dec 2023, 10:22In the final is it just the public vote which decides (although who would know if it wasn't fixed adjusted)![]()

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2023
It won't work like that. The judges scores will be added to give a single leader board. The top couple then gets 4, and so on down to 1 for the fourth couple. The audience votes are similarly converted to points from top to bottom. The two sets are then added. If there is a tie then the audience vote takes precedence.CaroleF wrote: 04 Dec 2023, 10:08It seems a sneaky move carrying over the Judges' votes to next week so that then there will be two lots of Judges' votes to one lot of the public votes. It gets a bit more complicated if the judges scores produce a tie on the leaderboard. More here:

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2023
Don’t know what Sundays show was all about. It was just a trimmed down repeat of Saturdays show with awful guest singers. I turned it off part way through.
They would have been better off just scrapping the non results show and resuming next weekend.
Come to think of it, I don’t remember all this ‘no one will be going out this week’ when Amanda Abbington decided to throw in the towel.

I did stick with it all the way through and agree with you...it was very poorly thrown together, even the opening dance looked amateurish. I also agree with you about the quality of singing.Stephen wrote: 05 Dec 2023, 07:57Don’t know what Sundays show was all about. When Amanda pulled out they said the Final would be three rather than the planned four couples.

According to next week's Radio Times one couple will be voted off this weekend to leave three in the final.

I suspect Annabel will be leaving. My money is still on Ellie to win despite the best efforts of the judges for a Layton victory.

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2023
Layton and Nikita were by far the best in tonight's show. What nonsense to suggest the judges are biased towards them.

Looks like I've struck a nerve there....
As a professional dancer of course he should be better than the rest but do we have to suffer the OTT posturing every week from the female judges?

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2023
My prediction is Bobby and Annabel in the dance off. But stranger things have happened.

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2023
Have to say that Layton's Charleston was excellent and deserved four tens - not as impressed with his Rumba.
As the judges said Bobby peaked at the right time.
Some of the marking was all over the place - how can you say there were minor faults with Ellie and then give her a 10?
And there was a definite low marking of Annabel this last two weeks to make sure that she is in the dance off and that Layton does not have to be in the dance off again - even though the public prefer Annabel to Layton.

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2023
I have zero problem with Layton being gay. I do have a problem, as do the voting public, that he has professional show dancing experience where the other three have zero experience of any dance form. Every dance he does leans on it. The judges' bias shows in the way they praise his originality and showmanship where they criticise others for departure from recognised dance standards. Last night was a classic case. In the rumba, where he couldn't depart, he was no better than the others.

Just a reminder to Foxy… if Layton wins you owe me £110
