Re: should moderators be allowed to post ??
I actually never understood that David. Many of the technical forums I visit were set up by the people that run them and many expect them to answer their queries. Other forums including crusing ones like cruisecritic, crowsnest etc. etc. have moderating team posting on them. Nobody would think of questioning Facebook moderators about posting on the forums they have set up. In fact P&O is one of the very few I can think of that had limited input from the moderation team.

Then I suggest you revert to your tried and tested technique for aletring things..HK phooey wrote:Am I a moderator? I don't seem to be able to alter other peoples' posts

I heard that you content is edited

Ah, there we are then. Thanks for that David.david63 wrote:Where references are being made to MM then I can fully understand why he has not joined this forum.
Not long before the P&O forum "collapsed" there was a discussion about moderation of fora in general and P&O in-particular in which he stated that he would not want to be a member of any forum where the forum moderators, whoever they may be, were allowed to post.
Therefore I respect him for sticking to his principles even though I may not agree with him.

At least rest of us are more flexible and are happy to change principles if others don't like the current setOnelife wrote:Mr DK was certainly a man of principle...of that there can be no doubt.

Now, if I was a moderator I would have changed the word principle to 'dodgy clothing choices'

Surely discussing someone who isn't able to reply is against the T&C?

Re: should moderators be allowed to post ??
Meg, I think the discussion is really focused on the subject of moderators posting on the forum and Mr Kane's absence was mentioned as a consequence of his desire not to post on any forum on which moderators also post.
Since nothing personal or defamatory has been posted about him I don't believe any T&C's have been breached.
Welcome back Phooey. We missed you!!

the one good thing about the current group of Watchmen, is we won't see the weekend warriors turning up on friday to disrupt things, when they knew admin were not there

So far this excellent forum has been mainly a repatriation board for the lost souls from the doomed CC confusion
Should we consider the "newbies" who have found their way on board
Reading this an other threads must so confusing for them . . . . just wondering if and how many have changed their CC user name
