The chap who used it yesterday to explain something in a meeting also claimed the same - maybe the most surprising thing was that 7 out of 11 people in the meeting had not heard of it before. The most embarrassing thing for me is that one of my degrees is actually in pure maths - the maths to prove it really is primary school stuff (good old BODMAS), but I guess I never needed to know it before. Now I just need a reason to use it.

I’ve never heard of it before either. Then I thought about it for a bit and realised that it was just an illustration of the Commutative Law. xy/100 is the same as yx/100.

It has no practical use which is why it rarely gets mentioned.

Sadly the ship organised tour was fully booked out, and when we made our own way the queue was half way to Abu Dhabi, so we didn't get a chance to go up. I came across one of those vending machines in the mall but managed to point the boss towards an ice cream shop before she saw it.

The lift in the world trade centre was the same many years ago. Scared the life out of me as it went higher and higher to the point that when it finally reached the top I was almost clinging to the wall when I got out of it.
