Have you got a tarpaulin over the gap to keep the weather out?
No, we haven’t Foxy…. Even with the scaffolding up they will need a cat ladder to access worst area. The builder is bringing his own scaffolding to get to the north facing roof damage.

Our loft has been plaster-boarded by the previous owners which has kept water (as yet) from seeping into bedroom one, however water has made it through the plasterboard and there is staining to the plaster. I’ve rolled back the carpet in bedroom one just in case, and have laid plastic sheeting in the loft.

I’m not going to phone him, but will do so on Monday if we haven’t heard…Unfurtunatly we are not in a position to start demanding that he honours his time schedules as I fear we could be waiting weeks to get someone else.

Despite not wanting to upset him Keith, I would certainly be phoning him to see why he hadn't started as planned.

Tradespeople are notorious for not communicating and being out of telephone contact. Try using a different phone

Hi John…I know it would be the logical thing to do but we have already chased him once so I’m a little apprehensive to keep doing the same…. I will phone Monday if we are no further forward...but thank you for your well-intended advice.

I've found somebody to do the job for you. Can he and his mates park their caravans on your drive, and if that needs a bit of tarmac they'll do that too. It'll be cheap cos they've got some left over from another job.

You’re far too kind but I’ll have to decline as I don’t employ forum members relatives

I heard the scaffolding was nicked and he was seen down the scrappy with a load of lead flashing.

A strong possibility Stephen as we’ve had loads of manhole covers nicked in this area this past week.

I’m sure this was a mistake so would you mind replacing the ones you took from our village? Thanks :)

Our builder contacted us today to say he would be coming out this Wednesday…. he couldn’t make last week as unfurtunatly he was involved in an accident which has resulted in his van being written off…looking at the photo he sent us he was lucky to escape with his life.

The weather forecast is good for the next few days so fingers crossed for Wednesday.

Oop's ...I can't zoom in ...so there's no point in showing the front damage.

That chimney doesn't look that safe either. Have you seen the slant on it :)
