Thanks for that. Hadn't seen it since June time. Sums things up nicely.
Also I had missed that vote, so thanks again. The majority think it was wrong of Theresa to trigger A50. Well I never.....

It was a non binding poll. I do not believe the E.U. is anymore corrupt than Westminster (nowhere is perfect).Silver_Shiney wrote: 30 Mar 2017, 13:40My understanding is that the country was asked to vote in a referendum as to whether or not we stayed in a corrupt political union.
It is up to the government to protect the country and it's people.Silver_Shiney wrote: 30 Mar 2017, 13:40Having given that decision, it is then up to the government to carry out the wishes of the majority.
We live in a parliamentary democracy. It all has to go through parliament. They are 'superior' to the 'will of the people'.
If asked, the people would vote for, say, free chocolate. Should we ask them and then implement the decision?
She is riding a tiger for her own self interest and trying to keep her party together. Her position is untenable in the long term.Silver_Shiney wrote: 30 Mar 2017, 13:40I take my hat off to the Prime Minister who is (albeit slowly) carrying out those wishes, even though she did not agree with them.
