Keith - you are wicked taking bets on Frank's weight gain. I'll go for 7 lbs but he will soon lose it now that he is home.

Just blown my diet for this week but it was our 28th wedding anniversary today. Not that this wasn't a good enough reason to celebrate but having our daughter return home today having completed her gold DOE award just added to the occasion.

Dinned out at a place called 'On the Rocks' which is a restaurant where you cook your own steak on pre heated lava rock....quite a novel idea but l still prefer silver service

Not sure what impact this will have at tomorrow's weigh in but the garlic mushroom starter, cheese cake desert and two bottles of Speckled Hen won't have helped.

Until tomorrow, stay strong pinchers

Keith.

Hi all,

2 lb down this so didn't quite manage to meet target of losing 3 lb. I blame the sun again over the weekend. It is raining here today so no need for rosé wine in the garden this afternoon. Alcohol free day I think and fish for dinner tonight.

Good luck everyone.

I'm pleased to report that the 'elusive' 2lbs have at last come off so I have reached the target I set myself way back in January

Maintaining it is another story :( and I would still like to lose a few more pounds so will still be joining in for as long as it continues.

Thanks Keefy the 'Pinch an Inch' diet is/was a great idea and we have hopefully all helped each other

Belated Congratulations on your wedding anniversary and well done to your daughter

Well done Sue and good luck to the rest of the 'pinchers'

Well done, Sue on your 2lb loss. I'm sure wine is the biggest offender in weight gain. If I had weighed in yesterday, I was 140lbs 4 oz. After drinks etc with friends last night, this morning I weigh 141 lbs 4oz. However, I think it was about 143 lbs for last Sunday's weigh in so it has gone down 2lbs. We have walked a lot during the week and we tend to eat salads every couple of days so I think that has helped me get back to around my 'comfy' weight. I actually bought a size 12 tight crop trousers yesterday (probably look like mutton dressed as lamb) but it was a good feeling - just got to pluck up courage to wear them out and not just around the house. I think you get so used to seeing yourself as overweight that it takes a while to adjust to being slimmer and wearing more fitted clothes.

Just spotted that you have also lost 2lbs this week Jo and have also reached your target. I think you are right - I am very grateful to Keith for starting this thread. I would not have got this far without a weekly weigh in. Sorry, Keith - it looks like you have a job for life.

Well done, Maureen and Jo. Sadly, the two pounds I'd lost by the end of last week have been put back on.

Well D407 16 day cruise added 3.6lbs to my paunch. Onelife will send a prize to the winner of the sweepstake (Not!). I think it was all wine, heineken, and Steward Michael's extra portions of ice cream.
Out to lunch at The Captain's Club Christachurch today to celebrate our daughter's birthday, then Rotary Dinner on Tuesday, so I dont anticipate a dramatic improvement soon.

Brilliant news, well done Sue, Jo   and Maureen  keefy is very proud of you all.

Stay strong pinchers and remember....'words of caution, eat smaller portions'

Just starting to think about what to wear for a holiday which isn't too far off now, but also something special to wear to a christening ...... everything I would usually take on a holiday is 2 sizes too big now, so it calls for that wondrous phrase 'I've got nothing to wear'!

I really think P&O's portion sizes in the MDR are ideal, and since I dont pile my plate up just because its free, and only stick with porridge or 2 Weetabix for breakfast, I find that its the change in drinking habits which is the worst factor. I hardly touch alcohol from one month to the next unless I am at sea when I know that no driving will be necessary. Then its two or three glasses of wine, perhaps a G&T, or a lager every day, and that's empty calories.

Chocolate is my biggest vice, I daren't even start one square of it.

Well done Frank. I can put that much on over a weekend never mind a 16 night cruise. I was pleased to only put on 7 lbs on a 2 week cruise. I don't eat big meals either but still more than I do at home.

Well done everyone and especially Frank .. that isn't too bad a gain after being on a cruise

Keefy you will just have to :silent: ( tape your mouth up ) for the next couple of weeks, the only way I have taken the two pounds off is by looking 'lovingly' at the wine bottle but not indulging but ohhhhh it will taste so good with dinner tonight !!!

Hi Jo

l bought two lovely T bone steaks for dinner today but after todays disastrous weigh in we have decided to make one go three ways...not that our daughter needs to lose weight, but sacrifices have to be made  .....btw thank you for your anniversary good wishies and the 'well done' to our daughter...has you may have already gathered we are very proud of her in all of her achievements.

Talking about clothes, my wife has announced that l will be required to try on all of my cruise clothes today, which isn't something l can do myself as l am very colour blind and if left to my own devices l would probably end up looking like a liquorice allsort

Hi Frank

I'm like you in that l don't gorge on everything on offer but l will admit to being susceptible to a good old fashioned fry up most mornings.... this l fear will be my downfall. That being said l don't generally tuck into anything else (other than the occasional afternoon tea) until our evening meal.

I have read that the portion sizes in the MDR are a little smaller than they once used to be but this will suit me fine as it will leave more room for my favourite Stilton cheese

Hi Jo,

I've already bagged a smashing black pair of trousers for every day, a lovely pair of black shoes which match with my best handbag, and a lovely dress and matching jacket.

Hi RB

Welcome back onboard

Without trawling back through previous posts would your 15st 8 lbs be an improvment from your last posted weigh in?
If so, well done, if not there's no better time to get cracking as its lettuce munching season :)

Regards
