my hope is that they phone you to invite you in rather than send an invitation by post
Ones that I know that have been invited for the jab have had a text message

It would appear any method is being used.

Mother in-law had a phone call inviting her for her vaccine jab.

I've got a bit if time before I get my jab but my hope is that they phone you to invite you in rather than send an invitation by post. Around here we are getting one postal delivery every 7 -10 days. I would hate to miss my jab because I didn't get the letter in time.
The letter also states that you can wait until contacted by your GP, but the mass vaccination centre in Huddersfield will be the JS stadium, and it's not opening until Feb, so we decided to go to Halifax, which from where we live is about the same distance as the footy stadium.

It states on my husbands letter you must take ID passport or driving license or a utility bill.

Nothing like that on my letter, and the confirmation e-mail says you only need your booking ref number and a face covering.

The letter is a mixture of English and Welsh. Usually there are 2 separate sheets but this one is all mixed up so you have to read through very carefully to make sure you havnt missed a vital piece of info.
Its probably the Welsh assembly being over zealous again.
It gives someone another job doesnt it checking your IaD.

Our letter came with 2 separate sheets with about a dozen different languages, but I don't think any of them were Welsh, presumably providing the same information to Britain's newest citizens,

It seems to be going pretty well down our way with all of our neighbours who qualified so far being vaccinated.
Good news indeed.

my daughter had hers on Monday - she qualified as a face to face workers at the optician.

she had to travel form Croydon to Darenth Valley Hospital ( near Dartford Crossing) cos that's where her boss had booked her in in line with the rest of the branches which are mostly in Kent.

No probs - in and out in the guesstimated hour - BUT no one told her to take proof of her occupation. So since she has no smart phone with her pay slips on email etc etc it could have been difficult. Luckily they believed her, though the midwife who did the deed said that they've had people in saying they qualify and later find out they were telling fibs in order to jump the queue.

She goes back on Good Friday for part 2 - though the colleague who went an hour or so later was given a March follow up appt!

Vaccinations are going ahead in this neck of the woods and quite a few have now had it. It's just a matter of waiting your turn and if you'r not that old you'll just have to wait a nit longer than the rest of us,
I saw where one MP said that prisoners should have priority. Are these people for real?
Is it because they are in close proximity to each other ... and it isn't their fault
It is their fault they're in there!

Mrs63 just had her first jab - from leaving home to getting back, just over half an hour.

Both my husband and I are in same age group - he went for a Pfizer jab at local entertainment venue last Friday. I had a text and went to the same venue this morning and had an Astra Zeneca jab! In and out in around 20 minutes - as I was being driven home I didnt have to wait for 15 minutes afterwards.

When the 2nd jab is given - will it matter which type? What happens if not enough vaccine!!

We are "watching this space" but both relieved that the vaccination program seems to be advancing apace.

Currently both jabs have to be of the same make of vaccine.

My daughter, a Consultant Psychologist in Oncology, had hers back in mid December. As yet she hasn’t been called for her booster dose.

My husband and I both had our jabs last Tuesday, very quick and efficient at our doctor’s surgery. I have this morning received a letter inviting me to book my FIRST jab. Not so efficient.

Based on our postal service at the moment, that doesn't surprise me. We seem to be getting post on alternate Fridays

I don't think that has been determined yet. There appears to be a line of thought that it could actually be better to mix the vaccines.

Our duplication was the other way round we received and booked our jabs from the NHS letter yesterday, today we had a text message from our GPs surgery offering the jabs at a local GP hub.
I suppose it's better to have the offer twice, than not at all.

My understanding is that it is being considered but currently there is insufficient evidence for JCVI to approve it.
