I wish he would make his mind up. First its when x happens, then when x happens it is not the right time because of y. Once y is out of the equation then z is the problem.

Yet another lie but I wonder why the pro-Remain press haven't highlighted this especially that arrogant and obnoxious pair on Good Morning Britain, Reid and Morgan. What a couple of smug, self important characters they are.
(I only watched them last week because I had problems with my aerial and could get neither BBC nor Sky News. However GMB excels in the obnoxiously arrogant race).

That was based on not being allowed to provide more QE. In the end they opted to do more QE rather than bring rates up, but that was only a short term measure,allowing the pound to fall, purely delaying the inevitable. Interest rates will start rising soon, hopefully in a controlled and gradual manner.

There were a lot of threats and comments made by both sides. Osbourne was probably correct, that an out vote would require interest rate and tax rises to rebalance the economy ... but that assumed he would remain as chancellor and continue with the fiscal strategy and targets that he had put in place ... but that is not what happened.

It became clear that Osbourne and Cameron was not the right team to drive brexit forward, so rather than immediate punitive damages the choice was made to 'relax' the economy. However this just means that all we have done is temporarily defer the issue, it hasn't gone away ... a bit like having a choice to pay more on your mortgage now or borrow more but extending the period over which repayment can be made.

The really sad part of this is that our generation doesn't like to do without so we have been effectively borrowing all the money from the next generation. They may do the same but, at some point, someone is going to take the hit - the 'as long as it isn't me' attitude will come to an end.
