You'd be spreading yourself too thinly Floosie - you wouldn't know which way to turn (bit like sleeping with George Michael, I suspect!)

Ooh Sue, did you see where he fell out of a car on a dual carriageway the other day? That man is more accident prone than Mrs007!

The man's a tad peculiar (sorry Sue). a) why would he open the door at speed on the M1 and b) why wasn't he wearing a seatbelt?

Yes Helen I did..not the wisest thing to do...

And yeah I know he is a not everyones favourite person and I dont agree with his "habits" either.

BUT....... ohhhhh he makes me swoon the minute he starts to sing. He is a very talented song writer too.

It seems to be a lot of talented people have a "not nice" side to them too !!!

They did it yesterday, which is a shame because I used to read it occasionally.
P&O had made it clear that the forum was the cause of issues on the main site so maybe those that had started posting were unknowingly bringing those problems to the fore again .. it is a shame because it was a good source of information.

I had a quick look at their fb page last night, how on earth they think it is a source of information for anyone is beyond me and even if someone does give some useful advice it is very soon lost.

I would have thought some of the comments on there are doing P&O more harm than good :o

I suspect that one reason that nothing has happened with the P&O forum is that they spend so much time "firefighting" on Facecloth that they don't have time to do anything else.

Jo, the Matriarchal One bought the Cruise Diary DVD and was very unhappy with it - it showed nothing of the ship, a little bit of the Headliners, the ports, and a lot of footage of people on the dance floor. She wrote to Carol Marlowe to complain and received a letter saying her concerns would be conveyed to the ship's photographer. He then phoned and said he would review the DVD content and take note of her comments for future Diaries. He also refunded her money.

So they CAN provide a customer service!

I don't doubt it Alan, anything that is "gone about" in the correct way should and probably does get a response that is satisfactory.

Not P&O but within the Carnival group ... when I had to cancel a cruise the customer service was fantastic, even though I hadn't booked direct they couldn't have been more helpful ( I know for a fact that the customer service team deal with P&O, HA, Cunard etc ) and move around wherever they are needed so it would be unfair of me to say one group deals with things better than another, the person I dealt with predominantly works for P&O.

My main point was the fb page which imo is being used by people to complain I don't think the responses are doing P&O any favours, I appreciate they are unable to deal with a complaint on fb as they only hear one side of the story on there but the same people come back time and time again especially when they haven't received the answer they were hoping for, not good for people who might be looking for advice before booking a cruise, we old hands take it as a pinch of salt but if I was a new customer it would certainly put me off.

DQ
Facebook is not really a forum, more a chat room and as such is more likely to be open to abuse and or people posting just to have a moan.

I know DK which is why I don't understand why P&O think it is the way forward, yes there were the few "odd spats" on the forum but if admin had moderated it properly much could have been avoided ( if that was one of the reasons for taking it down )

It's beyond me how they don't/can't see a forum such as this is an excellent marketing tool.

a forum WOULD be an excellent tool if it was moderated properly and only offered cruise related advice and information, but the general chat side got more posts than any other bit, so I would ask, what was the main point of the old forum?
it was a chat room, which is exactly what FB is, the issue as I see it with PandO is that they cannot effectivley run an internet based forum/chatroom without putting time, effort and resources into it and they do not seem to want to
FB is cheap and needs little monitoring so as far as a marketing tool goes it is far far better than the forum
also it gets a lot more traffic than the forum ever did?
yes it gets a few moaners but I bet pro rata it gets less than on here or on the old forum, given the number of users and hits?
lastly FB is a trend and as such PandO need to be on there ,otherwise there would be no interaction on the internet other than the website itself

Sorry, DK - the posts on FB are grim - the vast majority are gripes and are given the standard responses itemised above.

It's beginning to look like the only way to get things done is to tell FB

Now, before you say anything, I know that's prob not the case, but that's the way it's looking and it's worrying me as a seasoned P&Oer. I dread to think how it makes newbies/casual enquirers feel.......

Meg
I only pop onto the PandO facebook page occasionally as it holds very little interest for me.
As is oft said, if you dont like a topic dont read it, so I don't
