I was watching The Greatest Showman and I didn't see a great deal of difference between that and Strictly. It's a good programme being spoilt by the woke brigade.

I agree Foxy...it's all gone a bit too far for my liking.... Men snogging men, women snogging women not to mention drag artists sending out the wrong image of women…before to long we’ll look out of place if we’re not wearing strings of fairy lights wrapped around our bodies on a night out.

Thank gawd there are still tolerant people like me about.

As previously reported, while I prefer the traditional grace of men dancing with women, I have no fundamental problem with single sex couples if they are there for dance ability not as tokens. John was brilliant as a dancer last year, but I got fed up with the constant woke references to it and the way he and his partner were all over each other all the time.

It went a step too far this year, with two single sex couples, neither of which was great, though Richie did better than I expected.

However, both landed in the dance off after the public vote from mid table positions with the judges. I expect the producers were apoplectic about intolerance but maybe they'll get the message that a majority of the audience are fed up with their social engineering experiments.

p.s. Helen is stlll my favourite and thank goodness Amy survived another week after looking to be in a shaky position. Get your act together James or stand aside and I'll take over.

Tricky though when the public sympathy vote gives them two in the dance off that they want to keep. But overall you're right. Despite me cursing when the donkeys get through it's usually sorted by the semi final.

Not wishing to blow my own trumpet…Ok’ I will …not only is he a dark horse he's also got a long mane, which, at the start of the competition made me tip him up as a possible winner…having studied the form more closely I have since doubled down on him and put him in as my firm favourite.

Must admit I'm not looking forward to tonight's Halloween 'spooktacular' with more silly costumes and makeup.

A mate of mine is in the audience. Been trying to get tickets for 6 years. Even when you do get tickets they issue more than they have room for to allow for no shows. So you have to queue in the morning to get them validated at 9am, before they send you away to come back at 3pm. He was queuing at 3.15 am and they were 7th and 8th in the queue. By just after 7am there were 200 in the queue! I think I'll stick to my sofa.

Even Mrs Barney, who is a traditional fan has given up on the circus this year.
She records it and fast forwards 90% of it.
Maybe now that Hyperman and the Honey Monster are out, it may possibly improve.
We saw Strictly on a Ventura cruise quite a few years back and it was very good.
Not so much now, unfortunately.

That is also the same for us, my wife can watch the whole Saturday show in about 20 minutes, and the result show in 10 minutes, and that's too long for us.

In between dances they used to show snippets from the training routines. Now we have these awful setup scenarios with family and friends appearing or they go off on a visit somewhere. Good idea to record and skip the needless padding out.

We still enjoy the show and would love to see it live but couldn't queue that long just to validate the tickets. Even turning up at 3pm is one heck of a long stint by the time you've sat through the live show and the Sunday recording.
