Been invited to Mum's for dinner tomorrow....meat n tatie pie with suet pastry and mushy peas. Wonder if I can incorporate the huge amount of pastry Mum will give me into any sort of diet?

Hi Keith,

We have a fat club at work and today was my 1st weigh in since Christmas.
I am now 16stone 1 1/2 lb. My lowest weight last year was 15 stone 4lb and I'm sure with your tips and encouragement I will get back down to that weight.

That black pudding and egg sounds good.

Keep up the good work.

Hi RB

Welcome to the pinch-an-inch slimming plan, as you've probably already gathered there is no plan we just do our own thing albeit with one goal, which is to rid ourselves of that excess baggage.

Wether it's a couple of lbs or as in my case a couple of stone its always more comforting to know we are all in the same boat..Oop's sorry Ship!.

Just a word of warning about my Burry Black pudding recipe.....l wasn't suggesting that you eat the whole ring at one sitting.... just a few slices or you'll end up looking like a pot bellied pig just like me.

Btw pinchers, l havn't seen anything posted about what you've been willing to sacrifice in the way of food...remember, you should have by now ditch at least one of your....."no, l know they make me fat foods"... lets be having them by tomorrow or it'll be three times round the block for all of you.

Oh, and for the record my favorite cheeses and crusty bread havn't made an appearance since l started my diet

Stay strong pinchers only 4 days till weigh-in.

Regards

Keith

Keith,
I have banned chocolate brownies, McVities Dark Choc digestives, madeira cake, Chocolate pudding with chocolate sauce and ice cream, chocolate and vanilla cornish cream ice cream in equal portions....etc. etc.
Purgatory!

Skinny spag bol tonight, after a cold salmon sandwich for lunch.

Still losing but slowly.

I have banned all bread, potatoes, pasta and rice along with anything sweet, and alcohol will be banned after this weekend until we go away.

I was naughty today and got weighed again mid week. It was good news so it has given me the incentive to carry on being good. I have now lost 7 of the 13 lbs I need to lose. 6lbs to go in 3 weeks.

Frank and Sue you are both too good at this. I feel like giving up before I start. :( I was going to have cottage cheese and Ryvitas for my lunch. OH went shopping for these this morning and FORGOT the cottage cheese. I couldn't just eat dry Ryvitas now could I ?

I've been banned sweets, biscuits and cakes (shame to let all those Christmas goodies go to waste, instead of to waist).

No alcohol after this weekend for a few weeks

Sue - I wish I hadn't jumped on the scales this morning because I had gone up. I couldn't believe it because I was very good yesterday. Unfortunately, I met some friends for lunch today and had smoked haddock florentine (lots of cheesey sauce) and, having said at the beginning of the meal that I wasn't going to eat the lovely buttery potatoes, I then stuffed all of them as they went so well with the cheese sauce.

I realise I need a real dose of self control but it is just not happening. I wish I had your self control.

Eggs, bacon, sausage, chips and beans for dinner tonight, with two glasses of red to help it along.

I'm cutting back. I Only have a whiskey in the evening at the weekend now.

The sacrifices I make ;)

Hi Maureen,

My incentive is that I am cruising on Arcadia at the end of this month and away for 57 nights. If I don't lose it before I go the my clothes that I have spent all year planning and buying won't fit me by half way through the cruise. I will be taking some of my ' fat'wardrobe with me but I want to delay having to wear it as long as possible.

Try to get back on the diet tomorrow and put today down to a blip. A friend of mine used to say to me that if you get on the scales too often they will turn round and bite you. If you had seen a loss this morning you possibly wouldn't have made the choices you did at lunch time. She also used to say to me if you have a bad dieting day don't give up because if you have 7 roses and one withers you don't throw the whole bunch away.

I have got a whole load more of motivational spiel from my years of dieting clubs.

Good luck

Sue

Wow, Sue - 57 nights, lucky girl. I'm sure I would need a 'fat' wardrobe if I did that many nights.

Have a lovely holiday.

Sue you might find that you lose it as quickly as you put it on if its vegetable based. If we have a stir fried veg based lunch or dinner, or a largely vegetable stew you take on a lot of heavy liquid short term and your weight goes up.

Sue and I have been at this diet game for quite a while now and we accept blips like that as long as the trend is downwards.

Good luck.
