Koreans consider a year in the womb as counting towards their age, so everyone is one year old at birth. Everyone gets one year added to their Korean age on New Year's Day.
....
So if you are born on Christmas day you'll be two come New Years Day.

Did you know ...
Twitter and chums consider the vile racist abuse against coloured footballers in this Country to be within their rules of acceptability. It seems that these trolls can presently say whatever they want because they are protected by the 5th Amendment.
Germany had a similar problem regarding Holocaust abuse but passed strict laws to address the problem, several thousand Moderators were swiftly employed in the USA to resolve the issue.

As from Jan 19th 2022 Amazon will no longer accept Barclaycard Visa Credit cards because they are charging them more than they wish to pay.
Mastercard is still ok as are all Debit Cards.

We have had the same e-mail, but I wonder if its genuine or a scam to get your credit card details.Manoverboard wrote: 17 Nov 2021, 10:08As from Jan 19th 2022 Amazon will no longer accept Barclaycard Visa Credit cards because they are charging them more than they wish to pay.

It seems highly unlikely that Amazon would make such a decision to stop accepting the largest CC provider in the UK. If it is genuine then a major dispute between 2 such heavyweights will be very interesting.

In protest I will aim to avoid Amazon until the end of January 2022 at the very earliest although I rather suspect that a compromise for UK citizens will be thrashed out.

No big deal, I will still probably give Amazon a significant whack of my Christmas pressie buying money - much better than fighting my way through shops.

I haven’t used Amazon for years.
In fact I have a personal boycott of it.
It’s a bit like Ryanair. It’s not a last resort. It’s a never resort.
As you know, our philosophy is shop local as much as possible.
Mrs B will be getting her usual Spa voucher and I’ve got fly fishing lessons on my santa list.

Always best to leave protests on a matter of principle until the principle becomes irrelevant to youManoverboard wrote: 17 Nov 2021, 15:22You could be right there ... I may delay my protest for a little while![]()

Re: You learn something new every day
I rarely use Amazon these days. It goes back to when we were going on our long 65 nights round South Amenerica trip and I got an email purporting to come from Amazon telling me that my password had been changed. Eventually it turned out to be a scam but trying to get in touch with Amazon before we left Southampton was a nightmare and I turned it all over to one of my daughters, gave her my password and left her to sort it out. In the event I had to re-register when I returned. The other thing I did and still do, which was recommended by a friend who works in computers, was to remove my credit card details at the end of each purchase with Amazon. I use Amazon when I want to purchase something it's difficult or much more expensive to get from anywhere else.

Neider do I, but I dont like them trying to out muscle Visa, especially when they already make billions of profit.

The reason there are 360 degrees in a circle is down to the Babylonians who liked numbers that were divisible by many other numbers.

Apparently Nostradamus has predicted a major earthquake before the end of this year (thought possibly to be in CA on 25th of Nov)

I only really know of Nostradamus is from the Al Stewart song. How much could you pin down the dates etc. from Nostradamus’s writings or was it all down to retrospective interpretation?

Re: You learn something new every day
I believe he split his work into quatrains and centuria that allow dates to be approximated (I only look things up out of curiosity). But you are right they are very vague and highly dependent on interpretation. For next year apparently the interpretation suggests:Ranchi wrote: 23 Nov 2021, 15:48I only really know of Nostradamus is from the Al Stewart song. - a climate war (political)
- increasing immigration due to war
- a major earthquake in the far east (Japan?)
- the death of a world leader (some interpret that as fat boy Kim others suggest our own Queen)
- the collapse of the EU (that should please the epicaricacists)
- The siege of a city (Paris?)

Re: You learn something new every day
Thanks for that, Kendhni. I might look it up. If I recall correctly the song lyrics mention Hister, in greater Germanie; an emperor of France from Corsica called Naploeron; the plague & fire of London in 1666; & three ruling brothers in USA ( two die before their time) - JFK & Bobby?
As I say, I’m not sure how much was embellished by the songwriter. I shall investigate!

I am not familiar with the song but all of the things you list are considered to have been correlated with Nostradamus' writings.

Dear ......
" The expected change regarding the use of Visa credit cards on Amazon.co.uk will no longer take place on January 19. We are working closely with Visa on a potential solution that will enable customers to continue using their Visa credit cards on Amazon.co.uk.
Should we make any changes related to Visa credit cards, we will give you advance notice. Until then, you can continue to use Visa credit cards, debit cards, Mastercard, American Express, and Eurocard as you do today.
Thank you for being an Amazon customer. "
ps .... Hermes have advised that they will deliver my parcel today, ie the one that came last Tuesday
