Re: Strictly come Dancing
Please could someone explain to me what is the point of Claudia Winkleman on Strictly Come Dancing. Her 'trying to be funny' makes me cringe. I have reached the point where I would like to see Bruce Forsyth back on there and I never expected to say that.

Now, I like Claudia. She is silly/ funny in my view. Another case of not pleasing all of the people etc.......
Who's going out then? Anita p'raps? or ....well I don't know. J

That would also be my guess, Jay, but I have been wrong most weeks so it could be one of the others. At least Peter Andre has gone - well past his sell by date.jay-ell71 wrote:Who's going out then? Anita p'raps? or ....well I don't know. J

Re: Strictly come Dancing
Hard one to call this week. Any of them could win it now the weaker dancers have been weeded out.
Georgia is my favourite and I hope she wins but she doesn't get the votes.
I think Helen and Anita will be in the dance off but I haven't been right yet this season.

Re: Strictly come Dancing
Anita Rani didn't deserve those barbed comments from Craig yesterday, we thought it was a very difficult choreography beautifully danced. Love her excellent attitude though. Several of the pros seemed to think the judges got that one wrong. At least Len stuck up for her...Darcy is irritating me at present.

Well, I got that completely wrong. Roll on next week. I really don't know who will be next. How long can Anton stay??

As long as the public vote for him.
He has had some dire partners and at least his present partner doesn't have any previous dance experience,( as far as we know), and she HAS improved, week on week. Maybe that is why the public have voted for him ?

I'm a fan of Anton as well and would love to see him in the final. Their dances this week are the charleston and the waltz.

Re: Strictly come Dancing
even more of a popularity contest than its ever been and now weekly reports that it is fixed from day one
time for a shake up and leave the judging and evictions to the judges, not the public, who obviously wouldn't recognise a good dancer if one tangoed across their living room floor

Yes it is a popularity contest and always has been, but I don't believe the fixing allegations for a moment. Load of tosh and sour grapes from the losers. But if it was fixed, giving more power to the judges would be the worst idea. Leave it alone is my vote. Why change something that is wiping the floor with the ITV competition? That would be as daft as abolishing formal nights or moving the crèche to the Crow's Nest.

Re: Strictly come Dancing
Except that without the public voting it would doubtless lose some of its appeal to some people and lose viewing numbers, which would not go down well with the Beeb.Dark Knight wrote:even more of a popularity contest than its ever been and now weekly reports that it is fixed from day one

Re: Strictly come Dancing
Just accept that it is not, and never has been, a dancing contest and look upon it as just another Saturday evening entertainment show.

Whatever floats your boat - 10 minutes of all that false cheering and gushing presenters drives me bonkers

As you say, whatever floats your boat. Some like it some don't. But in a strange world where some people don't like P&O cruises anything is possible. Hope you're packed by the way. Not long now.
(Note to Modplods - P&O do Strictly Cruises - that's my defence to any off topic charge)

We always seem to miss the final and this year is no different. I will get the result by text then watch it on catch up TV when we return in January.

Wow Kelly and Kevin's American smooth of Fred and Ginger was for me the best of the night. Absolutely brilliant. A 10 from me !!
I have supported Anton and Katie all through the series but sadly I think their time has come.

Re: Strictly come Dancing
I personally didn't think anyone stood out as winner this evening.
