Sitting in bed early this morning reading 'Wail on line' on new smart phone. (OK it's a toy, I know!!), I showed Sue the photos of Duchess of Cambridge in new fashion dress. Talk turned to Zoe Ball and Fat Boy Slim. A few minutes later I said "Crikey, there's a photo of her in The Wail with a fag in her mouth and a bottle of Jack Daniels in her hand." Sue's reply? "Who? The Duchess of Cambridge? Hardly stopped laughing since.

I'm nervously waiting for a knock on the door from MI5. I may make the front page of the wail yet.

Just been watching PMQ's on the box and wondered why TM does not point out firmly to JC that providing him, and parliament, with a complete shopping list and fall back position on our Brexit negotiations with the EU, is quite likely to achieve the economic disaster he is constantly saying his party is desperate to avoid.
If he had been campaigned as vigorously for the remain camp, and used the same sort of arguments, he may have persuaded more of his voters to tick the remain box.
Of course that might have resulted in Remain winning, which I don't believe Jeremy wanted at all.

Because that would mean that they would stop looking quite as stupid as they currently do

I read the original comment as though Frank was telling OBF that he feels la Abbott is an arch hypocrite.

It would be madness for the PM and the Brexiteers to announce what they are planning or thinking about. Let them they out a policy behind closed doors and then present it to the EU, saying "this is how it is going to be"

Totally agree with you Shiney, the remain proponants don't have a viable brain cell between them.

Mind you I don't believe the "market" makers have much more, if Brexit is going to be so bad for the UK economy that Sterling needs to be down so much, then why is the Euro not suffering similar downward pressure.
Even without tariffs UK customers will no longer be able to afford much made in the EU that is not essential, which will have a major impact on the EU production. And if the UK production falls, so will jobs and this will have a major impact on current EU migrants wanting to go back home, adding to their unemployment problems.
Then the EU suffers a reduction in income from the UK, putting even more pressure on Germany to fund the rest of the EU, just as their car industry nosedives because we can't afford their cars.
So why is the Euro not under similar pressure to Sterling?????

Oh and by the way I think I will be reviewing all my Unilever purchases, even those made in the UK, unless Tesco wins.

So Mrs Krankie thinks the public didn't vote to leave the EU open market. Which part of leave the EU doesn't she understand?

The posturing eurocrats have made it clear that if we want access to the market we have to accept open borders and EU laws. I think we voted very clearly we didn't want that.

And that is where the dilemma is - we want one without the other and that is not going to happen.

I am not sure that many even knew what they were voting for, and even less knew what the potential outcome might be.

There was a bit on the news yesterday that we may still have to pay a sizeable amount of the £350 million a week to the EU to have access to the single market - now there's a surprise, how many times was it mentioned about the amount Norway pays?

David, no-one knows anything yet its all speculation, slanted toward the opinion of whoever is speaking, so no impartial views are available.
And my biased opinion is that, I suspect TM might have secured an ally in Hollande when she agreed to the Hinckley point go ahead, so along with Merkel having to do what Mercedes and BMW tell her, we should be OK for a totally complimentary free trade deal.

Why would we pay for them to export more to us than we do to them?

Perhaps I should rephrase above. I voted to get back controls of our borders and our laws and I believe that is the same for most Brexiteers. I do not expect to have the benefits of membership without the costs. But neither do I expect the costs without the benefits. A sensible compromise trade deal benefits us and the rest of the EU and I assume that is where we will arrive in due course.

Yes, she must be really lonely with only the Scottish people, the Welsh (Plaid), Northern Irish, most of the Labour party, some of the Tories, all the Lib Dems and the Green for company.

Contrary to the Quitlings beliefs, 'they' are a group of 27 democratic countries that make up their own minds individually.
So your point is only 1/27 th as true as you think it is.
Or, if you prefer, 'they' are ten times bigger than us. So your point is only 1/10 th as true as you think it is.
Take your pick.
