Maybe his Mum and Dad could vouch for him?
Then maybe not - would you vouch for him?

Sorry I was so cryptic OL and happy birthday again. I was merely meaning did you receive a "Spare" card from your favourite retired Royals. I presume you did, in return for your unwavering support.
Ah! Now I get it…. silly me.
I didn’t automatically link the “spare” to the …What do they do, what do they do, what do they really do…. Royal who has tried to expose the absurdity of the “they lie and sponge off me and you” outdated institution. :D

Happy birthday Keithy baby 🎉🎂.
As I fall into the category of belated happy birthday and should be ashamed of myself, please supply proof of your birthday signed by two upstanding people who can testify the fact.
Meanwhile I will hang on to your pressie.
Hi Ray, you are asking for far too much information…just send the bloody present and I’ll forgive you

Hi Jan, hope you are enjoying your cruise  Thank you for taking the time to send me a Birthday greeting, btw, you are still my favourite poster. :D

I had a lovely day, with loads of pressies…My best mate and his lovely wife came over and we enjoyed a lovely meal out at The Jaipur Indian Restaurant (Church Stretton) I get a free papadam every time I give then a mention.

With regard to presents…I received Chanel (bleu) aftershave, new pair of shoes, £95 in total of Garden vouchers, a lovely yellow polo shirt, London Theatre trip, bottle of port, garden knee pads, a ride on mower which my wife bought for me back in March and of course a box of in-date box of chocolates. :D

Bl**dy hell, I’m lucky to get a card.

I started to get suspicious at "best mate". I'm guessing that's his wealthy and grateful bookie.

Has it become compsulory to wish Onelife a Happy Birthday, even when he avoids giving good old Stephen his birth date......asking for a friend.

Good to see at last the government has started moving asylum seekers from hotels on to the Bibby Stockholm barge. Protesters are saying that it is unsafe. How do they know what is safe and what is unsafe unless they are qualified, reading the mirror more likely..
This will free up room in hotels so there is tax being payed to the government help to pay for thier upkeep.
As for the original Bibby Stockholm having 220 odd rooms, it was intended to house oil workers in relative comfort. To comfortable for asylum seekers.
My plan would be, one night once it's full, tow the thing over the channel and leave it there.
Don't worry, be happy

Good plan!

I wonder why the protesters who don't like the way asylum seekers are housed don't simply offer places in their own homes?

There was some "do gooder" on the news last night saying that unused army barracks/prisons are not suitable accommodation - fine but are these do gooders going to put their hands in their pockets to the tune of £6 million a day to keep the asylum seekers in luxury? They are seeking asylum not on an all inclusive holiday!

Perhaps if asylum seekers were told before they came over that they had to pay for their own accommodation it would deter some of them.

Apparently they are advertising to go to England where you get free health care, living expenses and hotel accommodation. It seems strange to me that old Army barracks were fine for our fighting troops but not good enough for these desperate, deprived immigrants. After what they have supposedly been through I would have thought the barge and the Army barracks were the lap of luxury.

I wish we would adopt the Australian model where we just get on with it rather than pandering to all the left wing pressure groups advising them what to say and do.

As often happens the do gooders outrageous demands actually harm their cause. Every time they demand better accommodation etc for asylum seekers they enrage perfectly reasonable people who might be otherwise more sympathetic to their plight.

And I notice that when pushed on it Sir Hindsight admits Labour would also use the barges etc. He really doesn't have any ideas beyond "it's all the Tories fault and we'd do it much better." Whereas actually the whole thing began with Labour's open door multicultural policy disaster.

One coach pulled up to the barge this morning to disgorge one asylum seeker.
Of cause there are alternative accommodation, the government has loads of tents available for those who have suddenly become frightened of being on the water.

I wonder if the govt have considered exporting all those abandoned immigrant rubber boats to China, to help with their flood relief.

Ironic that we are happy to pay to be afloat. Even much further from shore. Do you think the reluctant asylum seekers would be less fearful of water if it was the QM2 rather than Bibby?

Didn't bother them too much in their blow up boats they paid for. Suddenly they're scared of water, so they say.

Today I see reports of whingeing from some on board. Tough. Well I see a simple choice. They can accept the free accommodation, food, health care etc they have been given. Or they can be given a free flight back home. They are getting a better deal than many who've been born and paid taxes here.

Must say I agree with Lee Anderson who is saying what everybody else is thinking. If the migrants don't like it here then by all means #£@% off back to France.
These are people escaping persecution and poverty, travelled through many safe countries paid thousands to couriers and endured a hazardous crossing of the Channel and now complaining that their free accommodation with free health care etc is not acceptable. Is this gratitude or relief?
Perhaps unexpectedly forcefully put but Anderson is right. It has certainly put the left wing into a spin.

Wait until it’s full and they’re all asleep then quietly tow it back to France.
