You can’t knock the Scots for giving it a good go. I certainly didn’t think the scoreline reflected the difference between the two teams…but hey! They say you make your own luck and France took theirs curtesy of the Scots unlucky mistakes.

Since when has the rich man's Rugby been a current affair, it's just legalised thuggery.

Re: Current Affairs 2025
It would appear that the theme is week is the benefit system and how to reduce spending. In principle I don't see a problem with that but the emphasis seems to be about getting people back into work - all very laudable but are there actually the jobs out there for these people, especially when there is talk that when the effects of the budget kick in next month that there will be less jobs available.
Now being somewhat of a cynic last week we have the shutting down of NHS England and this week reducing the benefit bill so does this mean that Rachael from accounts is having problems balancing the books?

They only stopped because "Orange Man" told them to but now that his attention span as forgotten about Gaza and he has a new "playmate" Israel can carry on doing what they want.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 18 Mar 2025, 15:02I see that Israel has decided to resume the slaughter in Gaza.

His new "playmate" looks like he will play, but with his rules.

Yes; the civilians of Gaza are paying a heavy price for that of which Hamas carried out on Oct 7th.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 18 Mar 2025, 15:02I see that Israel has decided to resume the slaughter in Gaza.

174 children killed yesterday! How many of them were members of Hamas.Onelife wrote: 19 Mar 2025, 12:12the civilians of Gaza are paying a heavy price for that of which Hamas carried out on Oct 7th
Israel never wanted a ceasefire in the first place and needs to stop all this indiscriminate murder, it has gone on far too long.

Re: Current Affairs 2025
Whilst one atrocity doesn’t justify another, one should never lose sight of who started this war, a war, which in my opinion won’t end until Israel knows that Hamas is no longer a military threat or politically active within Gaza. The civilian loss of life is a tragic but it is a consequence that only Hamas are to blame. They have and continue to use their civilians as human shields while happily parading hostages as trophies under an ideology which most of us would never want to live under.
Sorry if my words offend but my sympathies lie with the hundreds of defenceless Men, Women, Children who were gang raped, sexually mutilated and slaughtered in the most unspeakable ways....lest we forget Oct 7th - 9/11- 7/7 ... at our peril!

So who did start it? Hamas on 7th October. Or Isreal for decades by illegally occupying territory that isn't theirs?

Without doubt Hamas started this particular conflict…as for who owns what, it’s my understanding that there is no conclusive evidence that either have outright claims to Palestine.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 19 Mar 2025, 18:21So who did start it? Re: Current Affairs 2025
Without doubt Hamas started this phase of the war but as we now know Israel allowed it to happen as they have been waiting for this fight for a long time.
Irrespective of who started the war or what has happened there is absolutely no excuse for Israel to have murdered so many innocent Palestinians many of them children. The sooner that Netanyahu sets foot outside of Israel and is arrested and put on trial for war crimes the better.

Gushing with pride, a Hamas terrorist phoned home Oct. 7 to tell his parents: “I killed 10 with my own hands! Dad, 10 with my own hands!
So please tell me where do you start negotiations with those who endorse these kinds of views/actions?

Re: Current Affairs 2025
They are all very much indoctrinated to hate. There was a disturbing image of very young children in the ISIS camp in Syria throwing stones and drawing their fingers across their throats towards the press team. ISIS fighters of the future indoctrinated from a very early age?
In a similar vein there was a report about a young boy who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers. It was really quite a biased report portraying Israeli soldiers as heartless in shooting this little boy. However when the footage was shown we found this little boy throwing stones at the soldiers. Heartless to shoot him? Maybe but knowing the situation and how the IDF respond was this the most sensible of ideas and after all this time in a verry dangerous situation not particularly advisable especially with his father nearby.
I find great difficulty in feeling sympathy in this situation.

Stupid question by radio presenter.
But, questions must be asked why it was vulnerable, and what can be done to Heathrow and other important national sites for alternative back up.
It was a case of no one ever thinking about the power supply as Heathrow grew bigger that one isolated incident would take it down.
A wake up call for many other places as well as Heathrow I would think.

All the "armchair experts" are coming out of the woodwork - including Simon Calder. Anyone would think that it was simply a question of plugging another cable in and everything would be back up and running.Stephen wrote: 22 Mar 2025, 10:27Always looking for a scapegoat and someone to blame. I am not sure how people, including some MPs, realistically expect every aspect of life to have failsafe contingency plans in place for every possible eventuality - and not only that but to have backups in place for the backups.

It's certainly got everyone talking about backup generators rather than the economy. I wonder where Rachel was when the fire started?david63 wrote: 22 Mar 2025, 14:47All the "armchair experts" are coming out of the woodwork - including Simon Calder. Re: Current Affairs 2025
Considering the size of Heathrow and its importance to worldwide travel I was surprised to hear they did not have their own sub-station. Thinking about what happened the station which went down would be a very easy target for terrorist activity if they wanted to disrupt travel. I expect tighter security will be in order.

So the spring statement is going to look like austerity. Surely not?
And failed asylum seekers will be sent overseas. Rwanda anyone?
And Rachel from Accounts has vern grabbing the freebies again.
I thought the Labour election promise was about change. Looks pretty familiar to me.

I'm very disappointed. I didn't think that another government could make such a balls up of things after the last shower of shite.
It appears I was mistaken.
One poor decision after another.
We have local elections coming up in May.
Got to feel for the local hard working councilors who will lose seats because of government decisions.

Re: Current Affairs 2025
Donald says he not happy with a portrait of him which hangs in the Colorado state legislature. After having a look at it, I think it makes him better looking than he is, kind of a Solicitor or a Surgeon. The portrait looks like it comes from one of these apps that changes a photo.
Still, all is not lost for dear Donald, for his new bestest friend Vlad, is sending him a portrait by a emanate Russian artist of none other than Donald himself, or will it be of Vlad.
Will be interesting to see what is on the portrait.

What a load of clowns (sorry that is a disservice to clowns). What a load of Muppets (sorry that is a disservice to Muppets).
It begs the question (and I am sure it will be being asked) of how much more of this is going on?
This is incompetence on a grand scale and they should all (including "Orange Man") be removed from office as soon as possible - but we all know that will not happen. This is what happens when you appoint a load of incompetent "mates" into high ranking positions.
