Hold on this could turn into a TV series starring Sue Spud and Gill46 to rival Christmas Lights, Robson Green and Mark Benson eat your heart out.
At the last count, Gill and Spuddy are planning no less than SEVEN inside trees between them (not counting any outdoor ones)

Dear Dr Marge - is this normal or is it me that is peculiar ?!

Mmmm. Not sure if I'd fancy a Christmas cruise or not.

I quite like playing the part of scrooge Christmas day at home, in front of the telly with a log farroaring away supping a glass of wine, whisky, gin and tonic, bubbly or all four  :)
Sure you didn't miss a "T" off the end there Stephen ?!

yes, yes, I know I posted it on the other Christmas thread, but it's just as relevant here:

Mother Christmas

Where art thou, Mother Christmas?
I really wish I knew
Why Father should get all the praise
And no one mentions you.

I’ll bet you buy all the presents
And wrap them large and small
While all the time the dirty swine
Pretends he’s done it all.

So hail to Mother Christmas
The uncomplaining slave
And down with Father Christmas
That good - for - nothing knave.
Oh Meg !, your post has fired Cheryl up,
and halfway through November too.
You could have posted later,
at least a week or two.
Now I'll be getting earache,
right up to Christmas day.
I hope your feeling satisfied,
now you've ruined life for Ray.
I do my bit in other ways,
like carrying all the booze.
And saving all my pennies,
to take her on a cruise.
Love your pome (sp intentional)

Mine is starting on the 1st of December, the decorations are going up and I'm just going to enjoy feeling Christmassy until January 6th.

Well it's sort of started - we've actually bought a decoration item (to amuse our grandchild), and also we've got grandchild's xmas gifts today.

Still haven't got any cards though, undecided about nosh etc - that can be tackled later.

As usual, Christmas starts when we set off for Southampton in a raging snowstorm, worrying about whether we will make it (well, it did happen once) !! Mind you, I have done my Christmas shopping - 10 minutes spent with Mr Amazon and his minions are delivering my wares as I write !

Got our Christmas "twig" down from the loft today - but only cos I was up there anyway, and thought I'd save a job later. Decided against putting up our main tree this year, and the twig itself will stay in it's box until mid-December...bah bl**dy Humbug! :)

Well now the 'man' has let me have my main festive gift early, so that I can be better prepared for the next outing ........ 3 cheers for a (quiet and contemplative) festive season.

Having thought we were having Christmas alone, we now have daughter no 1 and her new husband coming for lunch! Only lunch though, so we can still watch Downton in peace!

While being alone, for the first time in nearly 40 years sounded vaguely attractive, I must admit I think it's nice to have lots of fun playing silly games with the family, so I'm actually really pleased they're coming; just wish the other two - with their respective partners and new baby - could come too, but sadly they can't.

Me too, I noticed in one of the TV listings yesterday that on one of the channels there were 3 consecutive Christmas films, I would have loved to have sat and watched them but I was busy sorting all my clothes for our forthcoming cruises.

No Moby or at least not that I know of, I never buy the Xmas edition as I'm not here, it was the weekly listing from the Daily Wail.

One day, we will be on a Christmas cruise too; but with a baby in the family now, it may be a while before that day.

Thank You ...

It's not in Saturdays, according to Mobietta, so it must be in todays ... but we haven't got that one :wtf:

The RT covers the two week period of course and is, to us, useful for recording anything that may be of interest ... including the footy of course

I'm glad were not alone. We didn't get to indulge too much last year as we were going away in January. The one we watched last night I recorded last year and save for this Christmas. :D

Mobietta needs to go to Specsavers  it was in the Saturday listings on C5 when I've just checked, she can be forgiven though as I don't normally look at C5 either.

I posted last weekend on this thread that Ch5 were showing 3 or 4 Xmas films back-to-back.
