You would have thought Merv might have put in an appearance by now even if he is on his hols.

Too mean to pay P&O's charges but you would have thought he could have mucked in with the crew at a wi-fi hotspot !

Is it National 'Go Slow Day' today? Where ever I've driven today I'm stuck behind someone crawling along like Miss bl**dy Daisy. They don't need bleedin speed limits, someone walking in front with a flag will do.

Get off the road you idiots so the rest of us can make progress :x .........within the limits, of course

Argh, that's better

The toilet really did only block once, for about an hour, which seems about average in our cruising, usually when some numpty tips a bag of disposable nappies down the pan. There was a letter in our cabin when we arrived warning us what not to do and indicating they had some rather stupid passengers recently, though they didn't mention Cubie by name. I did wonder whether they get more issues with new cruisers - we had 800 on our trip - who are not used to the oddities of marine loos.

I also wonder how many bother to read the information they're given. We had a paragraph in Horizon to notify us of forthcoming overnight essential maintenance to replace a main water pipe that meant a total shutdown of all hot, cold and flushing water for up to 4 hours from 12.30am, but I bet reception were still inundated with "my water has gone off" calls.

Nice to know they've fixed the main water pipe ready for me in three weeks time. I'm still taking a pile of compo forms though, just in case :)

The "excellent" thing is interesting. Apart from a pretty overt plea for an excellent rating when the form was handed over we got several comments along the lines of "I hope you have an excellent day today." But if the stories are true I'm annoyed P&O have put them in this position. If I've paid my tips in full I expect every penny of them to be handed over to the staff who looked after me and nothing withheld because some miserable git down the corridor had a bad day. Some people will never tick the top score on principle. Any performance below the average of a group of people should be addressed by feedback and training and never by witholding tips I've handed over in good faith. That's if the stories are true. That's my excellent opinion.

A further thought. If I mark the itinerary or value for money less than excellent do the bods at HQ responsible for those things get their salary docked?
