For colour-shots in a bathroom firstly I like the quirky dish-shaped bottles in Sephora, and secondly I have a clear crystal sauce boat and ladle (not cut crystal, just plain), and I keep that topped up with a bubble bath which matches the colour. I was given the sauce boat (it's funky and round), and didn't have a use for it in the kitchen, so it sits on a corner of the bath in the main bathroom.

It's great fun to watch out for stuff like that.

Anyone got any other funky ideas?

Em :)

Not funky but in the bathroom I do use shaped candles to match the towels .

When I am away I am always on the lookout for unusual shapes.

My husband's bathroom is grey and white with accents of burnt orange in the linens and blind. Needless to say, he has no fripperies other thanan orange candle on the window ledge.

Mine has cafe au lait marble tiles so all linens etc are truffle coloured. On the shelf above the convealed cistern, I have an amber glass bowl filled with cream silk petals and hands full of sparkles such as you see scattered on wedding tables. The ceiling spotlights make it all sparkle beautifully.

Cheers Meg - I'll be sure to look out for those candle shops.

We've bought some lovely candles before now in the Channel Islands, so it will be interesting to see the local craft designs.

Just found this thread. I change our bedding every 4 days and love the first night in clean smelling sheets. Last year I started buying expensive egyptian cotton sheets and they are just so soft, and well worth the expense. Nothing nicer than coming home after a cruise to your own bed.

I change bedding once a week, and the mattress cover and pillow cover ( not the pillow slip) once a month...
Towels are rotated after a couple of uses....
