crazy
Wonder what they are buying cos if the electric goes off, most of it will have to be wasted. Unless they are filling their freezers with anticipation of a claim on their insurance

It's been sunny and breezy all day today.

I got my washing dry in double quick time, so that was good.

We've battened down our hatches as much as possible.

It's Mr Gill's birthday so we've opened a bottle of wine and we'll see what happens next

Happy Birthday Mr Gill.

Horrible here.

Good start but by 11.am pouring down, got very wet in town . Umbrella didn't keep us dry and then blew inside out.

We are driving to Heathrow Tuesday at 3.am. Joy!!! Will the plane take off. If we leave late because of poor weather, I will be very very cross indeed. :x

Wind increasing in Worcestershire accompanied by blustery showers.

We are just over the border from you in West Warwickshire. Getting quite blustery now. We have secured things that have to stay outside in the garden and are as ready as we can be. Perhaps it will not be as bad as the weather people are predicting. Hope the caravan survives the night!

Here's wishing everyone as peaceful a night as possible, and that when we all open our curtains tomorrow that nobody will have taken too much (if any) damage.

To all down South
batten down the hatches, make sure your pets are safe, look after your elderly neighbours, but most of all take care and be safe. My thoughts are with you all tonight.

The weather was all over the place this morning in Hedge End - calm, very windy, dry, chucking it down.... showery driving back home but the outlook for tomorrow is not good at all. I popped into the office on the way back and picked some papers up so I can work from home tomorrow - don't fancy driving in on a moped in strong winds.

Thanks Shirley...If you see a caravan flying past your house you’ll know it hasn’t got far to go to ours ;) :)

H Mr Shiny,

What a funny old day... weather wise?

Hardly enough wind to fly a kite now...must be the calm before the storm.

Happy landing

No terminal 5, but we'll give you a wave anyway, have a nice time in Madeira. :)

The wind here is horrendous, I've never heard anything like it. 93 mph at the Needles.

Water pouring in through the ceiling of the small room our conservatory is attached to, whether it's a tile slipped we can't see as yet, but the roofer will be contacted as soon as we think he'll be up.

in Saaf London - OH got up at 5.30 as usual, travel news full of closed bridges and trains cancelled , but nowt about trams. So set off at 6.15 as usual.

the travel news now saying fallen trees along the route he would have taken had he driven. I assume he's got on the tram at least.... bit early to phone him and ask (if he's arrived, he'll be in the loo!)

The wind is very strong. We have a dead tree in a kind of no man's land a few doors down. We've studied it regularly and reckon we're safe if it goes.

just checked the travel news..... trams suspended at our end, so rang OH's office to ask.

He got to the point where he changes trams and one coming the other way hollered across the tracks to say that a tree had just fallen across the line - presumably just missing his tram.

OH and all the others grabbed a bus to past that point and got a tram that was turning round cos it could go no further. He reached work normal time, but lucky to have done so. How he'll get home remains to be seen. Wind getting stronger

Sun is shining and blue skies here, has been raining but not now, but it is very, very, very windy, and whistling through our home, and appears to be increasing by the hour.

A neighbour at the bottom of our garden has two very tall trees near to his house , which look very precarious, as the wind is blowing towards his house.

Would certainly not want to be out at sea in this wind.

Daughter who lives just up the road from us rang, she has lost a large fence panel, worst to come between 8am and 10 am, all over by lunchtime.
