Tip: Use an old sock to remove dead flies from the front of your car. It's cheaper than fancy sprays and works a treat.

Line paint trays with kitchen foil when emulsioning. Much easier than washing the tray out afterwards.

Put on a rubber glove when trying to remove a stubborn top off a jar. Alternatively wrap an elastic band around the edge of the jar top.

I never wash out an emulsion tray nor indeed a roller.

B&Q, for example, sell paint trays for emulsion ... they also sell cheap matching plastic inserts for them.

Complete the two coats of paint using the same tray and then throw away the by now ' magnolia ' coloured insert.

I also throw away the snap on short smooth rollers after applying each coat if one per day but both coats can be done one after the other for smaller areas ... remember to put the roller head in a plastic bag if you have a lunch break else it will dry out.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

I use a 'scratchy pad' kitchen scourer, and find it works particularly well for the windscreen.
