If that is true, I wonder whether TM will be the winner by default, will they drag Gove back in or start the whole process again ?
The Torygraph has answered my question......

"Theresa May looks set to be crowned Prime Minister as Andrea Leadsom prepares to quit Tory leadership race"

"The Conservatives must not be allowed to ignore the electorate, their mandate is shattered and lies in ruins. Britain deserves better than this Tory stitch up.

“May has not set out an agenda, and has no right to govern. She has not won an election and the public must have their say.

“From her time as home secretary we know she is divisive, illiberal and calculating."
Which electorate is Mrs Fallon's little boy referring to?

Meanwhile Labour's Jon Trickett says he is putting the party on a General Election footing. Surely that's the job of the party leader, not some unknown acolyte?

Mrs Trickett's little boy is their election co-ordinator, apparently.

I understand and accept the call for a general election but what about this "fixed term parliament" that CMD brought in?

Not sure I agree with that. We weren't voting specifically for CMD or Millisecond at the General Election, but for the respective parties. Why, then, should we have to go back to square one just because the leader of the winning party has changed ?

Well Bliar invested Brown with a poisoned chalice so the precedence has been set. Perhaps Mr Trickett had forgotten that or it's another example of skewing the facts to suit themselves. Plonkers!!!

Me thinks that it's time for David Milliband to put an appearance if labour wish to have any future as a political party.

To be fair, it's pretty much par for the course - none of us has a clue what's happening most of the time

I would have thought that the last thing the Labour party needs at the moment is a General Election - surely they would be annihilated! Not that I know anything about it. Just heard David Cameron is seeing the Queen on Wednesday evening and resigning so then we have a new PM. It will be interesting to see who will be in Theresa May's cabinet.

...and also when Article 50 is invoked. Presumably no reason why it shouldn't be straight away. CMD said is would be once a new PM is in place and Ms M is on record as saying "Brexit is Brexit".

Sorry, Raimondo, we get a bit immersed in our jargon and cliches around here !

CMD = David Cameron ("Call Me Dave")
