I’m more interested to see if they are going to do anything with my knee at the moment. They took a bit of fluid off it a couple of evenings ago (Ouch) so just waiting for the results. If it’s infected with bugs etc then it’s off to theatre to have it flushed out, otherwise a course of antibiotics. Industrial strength hopefully.

I think it’s the hospital going by all the sick people about. Mind you the repair shop might be quicker and do a better job.

I had a right comedy sketch this morning, I asked the you Indian male nurse for two towels so I could have a shower. What does he come back with……two rounds of toast

It reminded me of the Two Ronnie four candles sketch :D

If you were a horse, you would be in the glue factory by now.

Don't give his doc ideas.

Mind you, if he was a horse and was that bad OL would be betting his shirt on him.

One of the four patients in our room went home today, personally I think it was too soon, but anyway, we’ve now got this old boy who’s a right pain in the ar*e. Keeps wanting to get out of bed to go to the loo even though he’s got a catheter in place. He’s pulled his cannula out god knows how many times. He hollers and shouts when he wants the nurse.

I think we’re in for a fun night. His pillow might accidentally fall across his face as i trip if he keeps it up.

Echos of my husband when he was in for a broken hip.
He had one exactly like that in the next bed.
No sleep at all.
As soon as they said to my husband do you have anyone at home to look after you ,he was out of there likeca shot.
Have to say occupational health were brilliant and he was home asap.

The questions that Stephen should be asking are "Have I still got a home and is Mrs S still there????"

The new boy was going off to theatre first thing this morning to have his knee washed out. The doctor said has someone put an arrow on you knee, so I called out jokingly ‘yes an Indian’. Guess what nationality the doctor was, I did get a strange glance from her for some reason :)

Your not far wrong actually Merv

Had my CT scan this afternoon with the hope I'd be going home. Turns out the dye didn't go all the way where it was supposed to. On top of that it showed there is blood accumulating around the kidney.

So, as and when they can slot me in they will do another CT scan and either X-Ray or ultrasound on the kidney.

On a slightly positive note while I'm here Orthopaedics are going to take a look at my painful knee with maybe having a go at aspirating it. That'll be fun.....not.

I think I'll put my name down for staff Christmas meal.
Many years ago, my dad broke his kneecap, and was in hospital for several weeks. When they tried to recruit him for the Christmas choir, he did start wondering when he was going to get home. But he did make if home in time for Christmas!

Hope you get home soon Stephen, and much earlier than Christmas
Gill

Very much club dining. I’m thinking of cancelling my membership though as the service and food quality has gone right down hill.

Hope you get good news Stephen and will find yourself off home before Saturday. Also hope you don't have to wait around for hours for a prescription to come from the Dispensary. John once waited for 6 hours after he was told he could go home, but not until the prescription came up to the ward.
