Australian Barossa Ink Shiraz is another nice one. We might only buy it if Tesco are doing one of their 25% off for six deals.
Best price at the moment - £8.50 Asda.

I suspect you mean sulphites but I would be very surprised if your Jacob's Creek does not contain sulphites.Manoverboard wrote: 26 Feb 2023, 10:20We are presently enjoying Jacob's Creek Double Barrel Matured Shiraz . The cheap stuff is full of nitrates and gives me indigestion and Mobietta gout.
ps ... we got it on offer from Sainsbugs.

Re: Jam Shed Shiraz
Dont know about Nitrates but all wine contains sulphites, but the mass producers add extra sulphites which act as a preservative, and can enhance flavour when added at the right time.Manoverboard wrote: 28 Feb 2023, 15:35The cheap stuff contains Sulphites AND Nitratestowny44 wrote: 28 Feb 2023, 15:20I suspect you mean sulphites but I would be very surprised if your Jacob's Creek does not contain sulphites.Manoverboard wrote: 26 Feb 2023, 10:20We are presently enjoying Jacob's Creek Double Barrel Matured Shiraz . Re: Jam Shed Shiraz
I'd never hear of Jam Shed so I've been researching, ,Jam Shed's own website won't let me in unless I give my date of birth, unusual to be asked for that! Reading other reviews and on various seller's sites it suggests that the red should be served chilled - do any of you do that! Several reviews criticise it for being too sweet and one says that the sugar level is really high. I looked at the white, they advertise a Chardonnay. I've always been dubious of Australian Chardonnay because too often it's been what I've always called 'Gloopy' - don't know if you know what I mean by that. I've enjoyed some French Chardonnays but not Australian. Anyway as I don't often drink red wine these days, used to love it, I don't suppose I'll be looking for it on my forthcoming cruise.

For me red wine should NEVER be drunk chilled ... others may have a different view of course
ps ... put your date of birth as 11.12.99. Nobody is going to check.

Re: Jam Shed Shiraz
That probably won't work as they will be checking that you are over 18/21 (depending on country). It is not unusual to have todo some form of age confirmation when accessing sites that sell alcohol.Manoverboard wrote: 01 Mar 2023, 13:59put your date of birth as 11.12.99. Nobody is going to check.
In general I would I agree but on occasions a chilled red on a hot summer's day can be quite palatable.Manoverboard wrote: 01 Mar 2023, 13:59For me red wine should NEVER be drunk chilled ... others may have a different view of course

A birth date of 11.12.99 means one would be 23 years old so I think it would workdavid63 wrote: 01 Mar 2023, 15:17That probably won't work as they will be checking that you are over 18/21 (depending on country). I'm with you Moby. Can't stand cold red wine, kills the flavour.
I put a bottle in the airing cupboard for an hour or two, or a glass of red in the microwave on medium for 15-20 seconds. Winter time only of course.
Get some funny looks from the waiter when we are out
