I can imagine. My daughter used to work for the police in a Multi Agency Support Hub alongside the NHS and Social Services. In the end she had to give it up as the stories she heard were too awful.

Towny, No matter if the parents are on drugs, it still has to be proved they are not capable of good parenting. A case worker can not remove a child without a court order unless the child may be in immediate danger, and then a police officer can be called hopefully with the skill to assess the danger and situation.
In this case the child had been removed from the parents at birth, so someone or group made a positive decision to return the child to the parents. This decision should now be examined thoroughly and lessons genuinely learned and implemented for the future.
