Wonder if I’ve got time to nip up with my bucket for some manure for my roses.

Yes it did go on a bit. Thank goodness for fast foreword
They didn’t mess about with Queen Camilla. She got the watered down version. A couple of touches here, a nod there, plonk on the crown and job done.
We know how to drag knock out a good ceremony though

Just caught a quick glimpse of proceedings...the special ones in the congregation look bored stiff and the panto has more resemblance to that of a state funeral…how can my wife be watching this rubbish?
It’s nice to see that they have done away with a lot of the traditional stuff and just made it up as they've gone along… Awful and so false.

It had it's moments but it is magnificent. It ain't as long as the Queens Coronation, apparently that lasted four hours. I'm going to miss the end bit so I'll watch the highlights later.

Yes it did drag on a bit but quite honestly I enjoyed it and don’t give a fig what anyone else thinks
I was particularly impressed with Penny Mordaunt - she played her part magnificently and swoon swoon King Charles aide Johnny Thompson in a kilt

Hi Jan, had I have watched it I’m sure I would also have been impressed with Penny but perhaps from a different perspective to yoursJan Rosser wrote: 06 May 2023, 13:05Yes it did drag on a bit but quite honestly I enjoyed it and don’t give a fig what anyone else thinks![]()

You won’t need to have a whip round, if reports are correct the police have done away with the peaceful (democratic) right to protest…. disgraceful! if this is found to be true.

Re: King Charles lll Coronation
I personally think there is, or should be, a big difference between a right to protest and a right to disrupt.
As an example the climate protesters whose antics made innocent people miss hospital appointments.
And on this occasion peaceful protest could too easily provide an unintentional cover for terrorist activity and hinder the work of police and security services.
Protest by all means, but not today. Enjoy your porridge.
P s. I may be wrong but I don't recall you making the same statement when protesters were arrested at Aintree.

Thank heavens for Penny. Can’t imagine what it would have been like if Starmers gobby sidekick Rayner been doing it.
I believe Diane Abbott turned up late, apparently she thought it was a wedding.

You are wrong Sir Merv…peaceful protest is fine, making your point using physical disruption is not in my opinion.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 06 May 2023, 14:10I personally think there is, or should be, a big difference between a right to protest and a right to disrupt.

Re: King Charles lll Coronation
I thought the Beeb did a magnificent job in presenting the Coronation. Hosted by the delectable Kirsty Young then Huw Edwards and Clair Balding, they were informative and knowledgeable and struck exactly the right note.
Penny Mordaunt did a magnificent and looked absolutely stunning....phwoar!!!
The pomp and ceremony was outstanding from the military forces.
What a great day! God Save the King
