Re: Strictly come Dancing
Well so far tonight its a one horse race Kellie and Kevin are leading by a country mile, his choreography is exceptional, his ability to marry the dance to the music is streets ahead of the other professionals, but will the public agree.

Re: Strictly come Dancing
The strictly spoiler website has Jay & Aliona way out in front with 65% of the votes on their own poll, so barring a miracle, or the fact that spoiler fans have totally different voting habits to other strictly fans, then I guess my favourites will be runners up.

Thought gg and kk were much better. Quite disappointed in the result.

Re: Strictly come Dancing
What an unassuming character he comes across as. I thought Georgia may take it but it could have gone either way - three excellent finalists. Stephen's block votes obviously swung it Aliona's way. Not forgetting that young chap she was dancing with. He was OK I suppose.
What will we do without our Saturday night fix of Aliona?

This is the first year I have been disappointed with the results. I wouldn't have minded if it were either of the other two, but my favourites were Kellie and Kevin.

If I'm honest though I also thought one of the other two couples would win. I think Aliona and Jay looked like they already knew they weren't going to win and it was as much a shock to them when they did. It Just goes to show, and as Craig said himself, it doesn't matter one bit what they score it's who the public want to win at the end of the day.
Well that's that for another year. Looks like I'll have to start talking to the good lady again on Sunday evenings

Re: Strictly come Dancing
I thought any of the three could win at the start of the night. Overall I thought Kelly would do it but Georgia's last dance was brilliant (and if nothing else, it sounded as if she's landed her next job out of it).
But I did suspect the bloke with Aliona would get it for the simple reason that it is a popularity contest on the public vote and when that opened there was one man and three women in the running. So if you wanted to vote for a man there was only one contestant. And if you wanted to vote for a woman you had three choices among the celebs, plus Aliona, splitting that side of the vote. On that basis it was perhaps foregone.
Who was the bloke again?

Re: Strictly come Dancing
As Craig said in his 'Red Button' interview, Jay won it in week 3 with his jive.
On the night Jay and Aliona were the weakest, but they had a huge following who voted for them
From the people I know in the online world, Kevin and Kellie were very unpopular. Even though they performed some spectacular dances, they just didn't have that groundswell of support.
My own favourites were Georgia and Giovanni. Georgia has improved so much, and the pair of them have great chemistry as dancers, without all the tedious 'will they, won't they' off-air romance rubbish

Re: Strictly come Dancing
I suppose it it had really been only a dancing competition then one of the girls would definitely have won it. However, it's not so the person most popular with the voting public won - Jay. I agree probably more women voted than men so he was the clear favourite, although I wouldn't have voted for him had I voted. I thought his show dance was very disappointing but both the girls were brilliant. Kellie's Charleston was amazing but overall I preferred Georgia - but very little between the two of them. The press were saying it was going to be Jay and they were right - the polls were right for once!

Re: Strictly come Dancing
We were away for the big event so we watched our recording last night (Sunday) Of course we already knew the result. On the night, either of the girls could/should have won. I favoured Kellie and Kevin. I don't know why they were so unpopular with the viewers. Kevin is a delightful guy and she was alway very charming and gracious. However as has been said above, Jay got the popular vote and despite his not being so perfect for the final, he did make great progress throughout the series.
In my mind Kellie won but Jay lifted the glitter ball..

Re: Strictly come Dancing
I was quite happy with the 3 who eventually got through to the final, but I must admit deep down I wanted Kellie and Kevin (from Grimsby) to win. My voting obviously didn't help
I thought Kevin's comments were lovely

Oh no. Just heard on the news that Aliona is not going to be on Strictly next year. It's a disarrrrrrrrster darrrrling! It's ruined my life. Where do I apply for compo?
Come to think of it, not heard from Foxy today. Have they eloped together?

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Terrible news. Just watch us go and lose on Boxing Day and my misery will be complete. What will we do without Aliona? Songs of Praise isn't quite the same.

Aliona, you can't do this to me. I've only just got over Flavia leaving. Oh well, it looks like the garage and hose pipe now
I bet her husband put the mockers on that, the jealous b%*^$?d.
Foxy, we'll have to go round and sort him out with some gentle persuasion. I'll be right behind you

Go for it boys. You'll have my support (from a distance of course). I'll stand by to console Aliona if you hurt him too much.

I was talking about you having it off with Aliona three times but then finding out it was dream with the sticky evidence on the sheet when you woke up. Clear enough, probably not
