Strictly sympathy night as far as I could see.
‘The gold fish died last week, pleeeeease send me to Blackpool’.

Not someone I particularly like but Fleur’s Samba was very good.

I’ve got a horrible feeling dad dancer Tony is going to go through……again.

If you want sympathy then you should have watched the Remembrance service later for some genuine sympathy.

Let's hope not - he is definitely out of his depth now. This is the point where the "competition" starts to become serious and (one Tony goes) it becomes difficult to say who should go - all depends on who makes the most mistakes on the night, oh and who the public like least!

Give him some credit, he didn’t put us through a dance off  …I struggle to believe Shirley when she said... “Tony, is what Strictly is all about” :o

I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did but for entertainment value. I think he knew his time was up.

What a beautiful opening number this evening with dancing which even I recognised, all beautifully choreographed and very appropriate for the day and a nice link to Her Majesty.

I'm cynical about the injury story. I wonder if he knew he was toast and was ducking the embarrassment of going through it again to be sent packing by the judges. And yes all the adulation made me heave. If he was what Strictly is all about I'm applying to Masterchef. Or the Olympics.

At least it meant that the other couple didn't have to go through the dance off. I read what had happened on line before I watched the recording of the Results show. It didn't say anything about an injury, it just said that Tony said that he didn't wish to put the other couple through it and would step down which gave the impression that he was being sensible and knew that the judges wouldn't keep him in.

The injury story was what they said on the programme. What you say makes more sense but that's why I'm cynical. If that's the case why not just say so? Anyway just glad another good dancer hasn't been sacrificed. Pretty much anyone's trophy now.

I share your view Sir Merv, if he did pick up an injury why did he go through with the elimination vote. Had he gone through and not been able to practice for next week’s show he would have effectively deprived a better dancer going through to Blackpool…selfish git! :)

I will say this though…. from a starting point of being absolutely crap he arguably showed the most improvement out of all of them.

I managed that at secondary school! Was rubbish the first year, then won the "Improvement Prize' three years in a row. I was still a bit rubbish but not as bad!

I reckon the Arsenal fans have run out of money to vote for him. Or they're spending it on making Matt Hancock eat Wombat testicles instead!

The opening show dance was wonderful with a nice tribute to the late Queen at the end, and as usual the lighting graphics were first class.

The only awards I received at school was a “trying hard” badge… after which they gave up on me…. I remember Mr Harvey (art teacher) saying to me “you’ll never amount to anything (surname) but you’ll probably die laughing” Honest!

I did actually win one class prize and even though it is 57 years ago I still remember what it was for and the surprise I had on hearing that my picture finished top of the class. We were asked to draw the inside of a supermarket. I don’t know how I did it but my picture was seen from the perspective of looking at the line of isles from the top to the bottom…. I think with a few more prizes I could have been anything, but at my age I’ll be hoping Mr Harvey is right.

Keep Smiling!

It will spoil the results show in its current format if contestants decide for themselves whether or not they are going to do the dance off. I don't believe the injured excuse. The body language between him and Katya was interesting at the end and it seemed Katya was finding difficulty in saying anything positive at the end, not the usual gushing praise and adulation we usually get.

Yes! I noticed that, he didn't go over the top about Katya either...I've just sent her a text saying I'm available for any counselling she may be in need of.

It was good to see my Amy dancing to the guest singer. And of course my favourite Helen is still in.

I’m not going to knock the hairstyles this week as I think Shirley’s was an improvement on previous week and Motsi’s must have taken the hair stylist hours to build.

I thought the show could have done without the distraction of the additional dancers but good performances from all.

I thought the best performance came from the (You are my world) Cilla impersonator.

I’m laying my reputation on the line tonight with what I think could be an unexpected result

So, it’s hello Will and goodbye Kym.

Looks like a narrowboat rope button fender to me.

On the plus side my Helen did well.

With Fleur getting a perfect score and previously being in the dance off - I think twice, I may be wrong, it just shows that often just being a really good dancer doesn't always mean that the public are going to take notice of the judges. I don't think Fleur will win overall, but who knows. At the moment I'd think Helen or Hamza. Maybe I'm being sceptical but once the outsiders have gone it's more to do with popularity with the voting public than dance ability or has it always been that way?

It's always been that way. In the early rounds the overall score is a mix of judge and audience scores, though if there is a tie the audience vote takes precedence. But then the judges decide which of the bottom two goes home. But in the final it is only the audience vote that counts so it is entirely a popularity contest.

I think that is a pretty fair assessment of how things generally work out…I also think voters have already made their minds up about who they will vote for in the final, irrespective of the final dance performances.

I didn’t get any money on Hamza but he’s odds on to win with the bookies.

Thank God I didn't take that advice  About as reliable as chocolate deliveries :o

Not sure why Molly is in the dance off so often as she is a far better dancer than some of the others - presumably she does not resonate with the public in the popularity stakes!

All I can say is whoever is dancing with Jowita is a lucky b****r!!! Who is this Hamza chap?

I'm not keen on Kym. Somehow she seems to have a bit of attitude, nor Fleur who seems to be obsessed with her African roots. I wish they would all stick with the dancing rather than bringing their heritage and personal allegiances to the table.

Next to go out I reckon will be Molly (shame as she's a good dancer), Will (too emotional for my liking), or Ellie (also a lovely dancer but the standard is getting higher now).

Hamza (lucky b****r!) and Helen are the front runners. It would be nice if Hamza did win as he is a beginner whereas Helen has had dancing experience before.
